Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Employee Communications Manager is a subject matter expert in creating and delivering content to align and engage employees across varying operational divisions and the company as a whole. This role exercises considerable judgement to develop and execute communications plans, make decisions and provide recommendations on divisional and company-wide employee communication. - Acts as the subject matter expert in creating and distributing company-wide communications programs. - Develops and manages the execution of communication plans for programs/initiative rollouts/launches, change management, etc. ensuring stakeholders have a shared understanding of requirements and how they will be implemented. - Applies deep knowledge in communication and change management to incorporate innovative communications solutions and identify new ways to effectively reach employees. - Works with executives, divisional vice presidents, managers and frontline employees to effectively translate company strategy and business performance, to understand the issues that matter to employee groups and their operations, and to build communication plans to address and translate those. - Develop and execute communication strategies to drive employee alignment, connection, and engagement - including in partnership with labor relations, division leadership, and HR. - Work in partnership with the external communications team to contribute to blog or other external content as the communications subject matter expert on key issues. - Completes major writing assignments on-time, while delivering high quality. Major writing assignments include ghost writing (emails, scripts, speech, presentations, etc.) for leaders of varying parts of the business, intranet content, newsletter copy and other employee communications. - Effectively partners with Corporate Communications peers and contributes to cross-divisional and enterprise-wide planning and execution of internal communications. - Makes recommendations on communication strategies to raise awareness, drive engagement and build trust across Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. - Represents the Communications team or External Relations division at internal company events and employee discussions or external events. Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills Required - 5 years of experience in a corporate, non-profit, agency or newsroom environment, or other relevant experience. - Bachelor's degree with a focus in Communications or other relevant discipline; or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree. - Experience with cross-functional project management (e.g., planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives). - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Strong presentation/facilitation skills within small or large group settings. - Demonstrated skills in effective communication to all levels within an operations organization. - Ability to achieve desired results through personal accountability and partnerships with other groups with no direct reporting relationship to position. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). - High school diploma or equivalent. - Minimum age of 18. - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred - Experience driving process and communication improvements in an organization of similar scope and size. - Knowledge of Adobe products, as well as website development. - Proficiency with multi-media communication approaches including photo, video, and visual communication design. A strong and demonstrated understanding of change management. - Demonstrated use of project-management skills leading cross-functional teams in projects.
