Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Principal Product Manager - Commercial is a lead subject matter expert in managing product development activities for Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. As an individual contributor, this role defines the long-term product strategy based on customer, competitive, and P(L) analysis, and will envision and drive complex and ambiguous product initiatives to successful completion. Additionally, this role will identify, coordinate, and optimize prioritization of enhancements and changes to one or more of our revenue products (first class, premium class, main cabin, saver, several first party ancillaries, and the credit card program) to deliver outcomes aligned with our strategy. Key Duties - As a lead subject matter expert for managing assigned revenue products, leads the product guild and manages the entire product line life cycle within a cross functional organization, from strategic planning to tactical activities and execution. - Defines and executes long-term product strategies and creates/maintains product roadmaps to maximize revenue growth opportunities, prioritize customer needs, and lead market innovation to improve competitive positioning. - Develops and implements a go-to-market plan, working with and influencing all departments to execute. - Prepares and presents business cases to key stakeholders and executive leadership that clearly describe strategy, tactical objectives, and business results. - Is ultimately responsible for assigned revenue product P(L), forecast, and budget success and management. - Actively monitors revenue product performance across key factors: customer segment, channel, travel purpose, marketing carrier, form of payment, hub/region, and any other relevant lens by product. - Collaborates with leadership to define and communicate ongoing product plans to continually improve the customer/end-user experience leveraging data, user feedback, and product performance. - Manages stakeholder relationships to provide transparency on product roadmap and how work is prioritized. - Defines and analyzes comprehensive metrics to inform the success of products post implementation, provide course correction, and improvement and ongoing strategic planning. - Actively seeks out and develops new cross divisional relationships to ensure the customer journey is supported across all channels. Job-Specific Skills, Experience & Education Required - 7 years of experience in product management, program management or product ownership. - 2 years of experience with data, modeling, and analytics. - Bachelor's degree with a focus in analytics, product management, economics or related, or an additional two years of training/experience in lieu of this degree. - Demonstrated decision making, collaboration, consensus building, negotiation, and teamwork skills. - Ability to present to technical and non-technical both inside and outside of the company. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with diverse audiences, including both technical and non-technical customers, colleagues, and executives. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). - High school diploma or equivalent is required. - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred - Prior airline industry experience. - Experience managing vendor relationships. - Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of management cross-divisional. - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with increased complexity. - Demonstrated ability to manage conflict.
