- This job is a member of the Information Technology Team within the Information Technology Division.
- Responsible for the identification, documentation, management and communication of scope and requirements for multiple projects and initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Manage and coordinate IET, IATCI, Codeshare, Seamless connectivity and ad hoc projects between American and our partner carriers
- Translate business requirements, both functional and non-functional, into business requirement documents such as Business Requirements Document (BRD), Functional Requirements Document (FRD), Sabre Requirements Documents (SRD), and Business Scenarios
- Translate business requirements into Rally user stories and test scenarios, tracking these scenarios through the entire development life cycle
- Participate in agile methodologies such as iteration planning, story estimation, daily stand ups, demos, and retrospectives
- Track progress and provide project status reports to business stakeholders
- Work closely with business strategy, various product teams, release management clients, project managers, developers, architects, QA testers, technology providers, vendors and other application teams to achieve product/program goals
- Possess strong aptitude for problem solving, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to concisely present work
- Negotiate issues, manage resolution of problems and escalate as required
- Participate in driving improvements towards delivery transformation goals, foster Lean process mindset to drive process improvements and reduction of waste
- Travel may be required
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
- 3 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- 5 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst
- Airline industry work experience
- Knowledge of native Sabre
- Experience gathering and documenting complex system requirements, technical specifications, and developing detailed system diagrams
- Experience in analysis techniques, such as requirements gathering and use case development
- Experience delivering in-house and externally-developed applications
- Knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies
- Experience with, Rally and Quality Assurance Testing Tools
- Ability to adapt to unexpected events, new facts, and rapidly changing circumstances
- Ability to thrive in a sense-of-urgency environment and leverage best practices
- Strong organization, planning, interpersonal, and negotiating skills
- Strong analytical, estimating, and problem solving skills
