  • The Senior Specialist, Campus Experience and Communication is a member of the Campus Experience and Operations team responsible for delivering best in class projects, initiatives and communications. You’ll be responsible for driving our campus communications engagement strategy and project managing a diverse range of initiatives and events aiming to bring team members together and ensure that team members understand how to get the most out of campus. You will work closely various stakeholders on comprehensive communication plans to ensure that team members remain informed and feel engaged – whether that’s about health and safety during a pandemic or upcoming campus events once we have reached a stable “new normal”. You will also drive communications, Social Media and marketing for the American Airlines CR Smith Museum and inspire the community with team member stories about airline operations and aviation career opportunities.
  • We’re looking for an ambitious communicator and experienced project manager who challenges us to think ahead and think big while also being able to deliver on the details. 
     
What you'll do

  • Responsible for all campus communications including supporting corporate real estate and CR Smith Museum 
  • Work with colleagues in Global Engagement to develop and implement communications strategies and plans which support Corporate Real Estate, Museum and Skyview Campus
  • Develop communications campaigns which educate and engage team members and the public around our campus and museum  
  • Continue to redefine the campus experience, whether it is during the pandemic or the “new normal” and lead action steps required to deliver against One Campus One Team
  • Drive all communication, marketing and social media for the Museum, including FB/Instagram, newsletters, website, onsite signage and more 
  • Be a thought leader for workplace culture in the physical environment, operating at the intersection of interior design, art, culture and employee engagement. 
  • Act as a subject matter expert for workplace culture; follow and share relevant trends as appropriate 
  • Leverage relationships across the organization to connect to relevant work groups, disciplines and build broad support with stakeholders
  • Encourage and support development of innovative policies to create a workplace that engages team members with the company and positively impacts engagement, retention and other key metrics
  • Realize the potential of “One Campus, One Team” through initiatives that ensure team experience on campus enhances engagement and pride 
  • Initiate and project manage targeted, low cost campus activations, this includes creative opportunities to collaborate with our Employee Business Resource Groups, Leadership, and other campus stakeholders. 
  • Partner with the delivery and experience team on developing engaging on-site and virtual experiences that engage and promote campus culture  
  • Focus on key experience touchpoints, remove barriers to engagement for team members visiting campus, and ensure consistent messaging throughout the campus journey 
  • Streamline and enhance campus related communication related to learning and experience enhancements 
  • Bring together campus stakeholders to align on policies, processes and practices across all campus buildings 
     

 

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience/training
  • 3 years’ experience in communications, marketing or related field

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Strong analytical skills, quantitative ability, solution and detail-oriented
  • Excellent project manager with ability to keep many balls in the air, prioritize, plan and adjust 
  •  Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Strong team player with ability to work successfully at all levels of the organization
  • Intellectually curious 
  • Ability to lead tasks, manage processes, analyze and problem-solve, working independently as well as in a group
  • Thrives in a fast-paced atmosphere where you work under pressure and can meet critical deadlines
  • Affinity for the CR Smith Museum mission

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Must have excellent time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time and meet deadlines effectively, efficiently and independently
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to research issues to determine root cause
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft office software (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Must be able to work in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines for real-time issues management.
  • Must be able to tailor communications to different audiences in the ways that matter most to our team members, customers, media and the general public  for both American Airlines and the Museum
