If you share our values to safety and excellence, we want to hear from you. **Role Summary** The Senior Service Engineer provides technical engineering support for the maintenance of Horizon Air’s aircraft for their specialty area or in support of specific ATA chapters. The individual is a subject matter expert in data mining and analysis techniques that are used to identify opportunities and initiatives for improvements to the overall reliability of the Horizon Air aircraft fleet. This role requires an unwavering commitment to safety and compliance, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Team participation and the skills to work with internal customers throughout the airline are required in order to successfully meet all requirements of the role. **Key Duties** + Provides technical assistance to Maintenance Control; and Technicians on AOG or a problematic aircraft. + Monitors out of service aircraft, delay reports, watch items and MEL's for any follow up corrective action. + Has ownership for certain ATA chapters as Subject Matter Expert. + Prepares and issues Engineering Orders (EO), Fleet Campaign Directives (FCD) and Engineering Authorizations (EA) for accomplishment by the applicable Maintenance Departments ensuring that these documents are following all regulatory and company requirements. + Develops project plans to accomplish fleet reliability initiatives including business case proposals for financial approval of expenditures relating to the project. Liaise with In-flight, Flight Ops, Planning, Materials and Maintenance departments to accomplish project plan. + Reviews monthly Reliability Report for long term reliability trends and develops corrective action plan + Develops presentations for the monthly Reliability Review Board. + Validates project plans on-site with maintenance technicians to ensure work instructions are clear and accurate. Assumes full ownership of assigned project plan. + Researches technical data; develops Maintenance Task Cards (MTC) and supplemental data to support the safe, economical maintenance and operation of the aircraft. Reviews incoming manual revisions to identify potential changes to existing MTCs and supplemental data. + Reviews manufacturer technical documentation such as Service Bulletins, Service Letters and other publications for implementation. + Coordinates with and assists other airline departments when engineering action is requested. **Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills** **Required** + 4 years of experience in maintenance or operations working on different types of large airplanes (with 10 or more seats) with an air carrier and/or manufacturer. + Bachelor’s degree in aeronautical, mechanical engineering or related focus, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + High school diploma or equivalent. + inimum age of 18. + Must be authorized to work in the U.S. **Preferred** + Has a thorough working knowledge of Aviation safety standards and safe operating practices, Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs), and all appropriate maintenance and airworthiness requirements of CFR Parts 1, 21, 25, 43, 45, 47, 65, 91, 119 and 121. **Role/Location Specific Requirements** In addition to the role summary, engineers on the interiors team provide technical engineering support for the maintenance of Horizon Air’s aircraft, specifically in the area of Aircraft Interiors (ATA Chapter 25), which include: + Crew, Observer and Passenger Seats + Galleys (including installed equipment and carts) + Lavatories + Passenger Compartment Sidewalls, Ceilings, Partitions, Stowage and Overhead Bins + Emergency Equipment + Floor Coverings and Curtains + Cargo Compartment Liners and Nets **Job-Specific Leadership Expectations** Embody our values to own safety, do the right thing, be kind-hearted, deliver performance, and be remarkable. **Total Rewards** + Competitive total rewards package + Medical, dental and vision benefits + 401k match program + Monthly incentive pay plan + Annual incentive pay plan + Generous paid time off + Travel privileges on Alaska Airlines & Horizon Air **FLSA Status** Exempt **Employment Type** Full-Time **Regular/Temporary** Regular **Equal Employment Opportunity** Horizon Air and Alaska Airlines are equal opportunity employers.
