The Sales Planning team supports and shapes all aspects of the MCLA Sales Division and collaborates with other business units within American Airlines. This position will be responsible for engaging in performance analysis, strategic planning, and executing ad-hoc projects to bolster performance across multiple sales channels. The candidate should be creative, energetic, and a self-motivated individual who thrives in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment.

What you'll do

  • Assembles and analyzes large amounts of data, presenting findings to various levels of leadership and customers
  • Understands critical drivers of performance and creates reports/dashboards to help leadership identify opportunities for improvement
  • Anticipates and proactively responds to account manager issues and queries
  • Ability to accurately diagnose known account business needs and translate needs into opportunities and appropriate offerings
  • Identifies performance trends, highlighting potential market issues and strategies to better position American Airlines in the marketplace
  • Aims towards becoming a subject matter expert in corporate and agency reporting
  • Presents findings clearly and concisely using PowerPoint, Tableau and Excel
  • Uses, maintains, and enhances Excel and Tableau-based analytical tools

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 years related work experience
  • Microsoft Office and Windows based computer applications
  • Competency to synthesize complex topics and information into simple and clear conclusions and recommendations
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including building presentations for senior leadership and public speaking
  • Team player with outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Ability to accept ownership, responsibility and accountability for functional obligations
  • Ability to travel (minimal)

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • MBA or equivalent degree
  • Sales, sales planning, revenue management, and/or network planning experience
  • Forecasting, financial modeling, data analysis and/or budgeting experience
  • SQL, Tableau, Power BI proficiency
  • Experience with Prism, Mosaic and Diio Mi
