This position is a member of the Corporate Tax Team within the Finance Division.  This position will be responsible for identifying, assessing and implementing major international and domestic tax positions that have a significant impact on the tax position of the Company.  Additionally, the position works closely with the MD - Corporate Tax and Director, Income Tax in assessing and implementing various tax planning and efficiency opportunities.  Identified opportunities could have a major impact on the tax position of the Company, as well as the Company’s publicly-issued financial statements and cash position.

What you'll do

  • Assist the Managing Director – Corporate Tax in the overall coordination and management of the international tax function
  • Review monthly foreign tax account reconciliations, monthly foreign income tax accruals, and prepare and review U.S. international tax forms
  • Review annual income tax, estimated payments and other tax returns for our foreign operations
  • Research international tax issues related to operations in foreign countries related to the aviation industry
  • Provide quarterly support for ASC 740 analysis and documentation
  • Support the organization on a variety of U.S. international and foreign country tax matters, including foreign income tax audits and document requests from foreign accounting offices
  • Assist in providing FATCA related documentation and assist in BEPS related requirements and compliance
  • Assist in tax transformation and automation projects with other AA teams and outside consultants

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in an accounting related field
  • Masters in Taxation and Certified Public Accountant required
  • 6 to 8 years of progressive income tax experience, with minimum of 5 years of corporate income tax experience, large teams through various projects
  • Extensive experience in performing tax research, with a proven record of identifying tax savings opportunities
     

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Mix of public accounting and industry experience
  • SAP and Thomson Reuters OneSource experience
  • Ability to concurrently handle multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to successfully interact with professionals within the tax department and from other areas of the company

 

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Ability to perform cost-benefit analysis regarding opportunities and communicate results to senior Tax leadership is critical
  • Masters in Taxation, or Juris Doctorate with an emphasis in taxation
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Strong technical, project and organizational skills, with a focus on details
  • Strong interpersonal and PC skills, especially in Alteryx and other automation tools, as well as Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and tax research software (CheckPoint, BNA, etc.)
