Job Title:     BPC Executive – Retail Division

Division:      Retail

 

Role purpose & context:

Ensure that SAP vs BPC data entry and reporting processes are aligned with Group Reporting.

To ensure the Retail division is reporting accurately and the consolidated reports provided the necessary insights into the business results for higher management.

Ensure Group timelines are adhered to for monthly / quarterly / yearly reporting purposes.

 

Key Role Specific Accountabilities

Perform month end aggregation processes for the division

Perform accurate consolidation of accounting data required to support statutory reporting and preparing and submitting consolidated reporting (monthly reports and actual Vs budget)

Ensure all financial transaction and consolidation transactions are complying with the group financial policies

Report Financial data back to the Divisional brands for validation

Profit and loss (P&L) analysis

Balance sheet accounts reviews and reconciliations

General Ledger (GL) and Cost Center (CC) master data management

Responsible to ensure system processes and reporting are completed and reconciled on time

Ensuring all balance sheets are clean and tidy with good understanding of the entries in them

Implement Anaplan capabilities with the support of the IT team and working with the Divisional SAP Accountants

Understanding FICO modules to the extent that you can suggest process improvements

Support Finance Manager on adhoc requests   

Correct results on financial consolidation

Compliance to account policies is maintained and no significant audit comments are disclosed

Flash reporting and aggregation is completed according to group and retail deadlines

BPC submission are completed timely

Balance sheets remain clean

 

Other Key Responsibilities

To liaise with relevant managers and stakeholders to ensure full collaboration and understanding on critical topics.

Contribute to the improvement of the solutions and business processes.

Maintains and upgrades professional knowledge, management skills and domain expertise by using continuous learning & development tools. 

Contribution to business excellence initiatives

Continual development of team and product application skills

Maintain an excellent rapport with the business.

 

Candidate Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • College or University degree in Commerce, Information Technology or related discipline
  • Knowledge of ETL methods
  • Exposure to reporting cubes using models and dimensions
  • 5 years in an Accountant role, preferably Systems Accountant
  • Knowledge of SAP BPC or SAP Business Warehouse will be highly regarded
  • Extensive use of Excel
  • Retail experience is a plus
