  • This job is a member of the Credit Union Team within the American Airlines Credit Union.
  • Responsible for providing sympathetic and caring assistance to beneficiaries and surviving spouses for accounts of deceased members.

What you'll do

  • ​Communicates with loved ones to ascertain how the account will be transferred or settled and offers assistance with any account transactions
  • Creates a case file of detailed notes and notifies affected departments
  • Assists with gathering appropriate documents and researching records
  • Utilizes Episys Core System processes to settle Deceased Accounts
  • Notifies and works with appropriate departments in charge of products held by deceased accounts
  • Consults with Legal Department concerning questions about certain documentation or legal beneficiaries to the account
  • Works closely with Deposit Programs when IRA/Share Certificates are involved
  • Opens new Shares and Checking accounts for loved ones and assists with the transfer of existing deceased account numbers when applicable
  • Assists Branch staff with loved ones in person
  • Answers incoming ACD calls
  • Works on various department projects

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​High school diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​Previous banking or Credit Union experience

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • ​Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) gained through either work experience with the software or education and hands-on use of the software
  • Knowledge of Episys System
  • Ability to perform in a fast paced environment, handle multiple tasks and function as an integral part of a team
  • Ability to interact professionally with all employees and members
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations and analyze data
  • Ability to self-motivate with strong organization skills and capacity for attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish is a plus
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance
  • Must pass applicable American Airlines pre-hire compliance checks
  • Must have an acceptable credit history, which will be verified
  • Responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act
