Logistics Manager | Toys R Us | Dubai

 

About the role:

A senior logistics specialist providing strategic direction and operational support to the Toys R Us brands primarily responsible for the flow of the warehouse products across the entire supply chain efficiently and within budget to meet business objectives and service levels both locally and internationally

Key Responsibilities:

Manage & Monitor Toys R Us (TRU) Supply Chain Costs & Service Levels

  • Management of supply chain cost & service levels to ensure that they stay within budgeted levels for the brand
  • Develop and implement immediate corrective action were costs are outside budgeted levels
  • Develop and implement cost reduction and lead time reduction initiatives, for delivery within specific timelines.
  • Support the implementation of Supply Chain Solutions & Integrations with 3PLs in the Omni Channel Initiatives as set by the Retail Division e.g. fast TRU model (cross dock and store ready) and ecommerce.
  • Accelerate the digital fulfillment solutions for the brand to grow ecommerce sales and improve the customer experience through last-mile delivery partners.

Inventory Management

  • Optimize the use of inventories across the multiple countries.
  • Identify gaps in the existing inventory control processes and take corrective action to address these gaps in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the development and enforcement of robust inventory, stock policies, procedures (SOPs).
  • Optimize inventories across the multiple countries.
  • Support planning team to achieve in-store availability is in within targeted levels.
  • Timely identification of slow-mover inventory to Buying Team. Ensure that clear actions are in place to address these slow movers and physically coordinate the movement of products back to the local vendor as per agreed Terms with Vendors and/or other liquidation plan.
  • Assist with the coordination of store stock takes and inventory reconciliation.  Identify and investigate inventory discrepancies and coordinate daily cycle counts with the warehouse.
  • Ensure physical product movements are accurately documented. 
  • Provide accurate stock reports and assist with the implementation of methods to improve inventory accuracy.

SAP - ERP Logistics & Inventory Management Processes

  • Ensure that the ERP is maintained and operating effectively and efficiently from an inventory and logistics point of view.
  • Ensure ‘Automated replenishment’ is fully operational and working efficiently in all stores
  • Ensure timely identification implementation of corrective action of damages or stock un-availability (missing in bin against system stock.

Business Growth and New Markets

  • Support the logistics & warehouse aspects of market entry and store opening projects within the Retail Division.
  • Ensuring compliance to legislation and brand requirements prior to operations starting in each store and country.
  • Manage store openings with required stock levels.

 

About the Person:

Education:

MBA (Preferably in Logistics or International Business), qualifications in SCM and Logistics ideal

 

Minimum Experience and Knowledge: 

Experience in developing, leading and driving strategic Supply Chain initiatives i.e. a strategic thinker with a ‘can do’ approach. Evidence of strong relationship building skills that enables robust and effective stakeholder management. Extensive experience in operating in an Outsourcing or In-House Logistics Business Model within a Retail Environment. Experience in Supply Chain Projects Involving; Origin and Multi Country Consolidations, technology solutions e.g.  E-com, automation & Logistics Solutions.

At least 10+ years' Retail supply chain management experience (Retail experience preferred) in an enterprise noted for using 'best practice' supply chain processes. Analytical with high attention to detail. Knowledge of Warehouse, Distribution, Customs & Cross Border Freight & 3PL Management. Strong people relationship and management skills.
