About the Role

 

The Senior Product Manager creates a product roadmap and defines the strategic vision for multiple teams/products driven by the overall vision.

S/he will have a deep understanding of the target market/industry and build close relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that the team’s effort is aligned with the overall strategy. A Senior Product Manager manages dependencies with other team’s functions while identifying, building, and managing strategic partnerships across the different teams. S/He will work closely within their team to ensure business value and user feedback is translated into new developments when necessary. The Senior Product Manager will be accountable for specific business KPIs based on the area of the product they are focused on.

 

Key Role Specific Accountabilities

 

  • Set ambitious and clear product vision, in consultation with and communicate it effectively to stakeholders, the team, and the rest of the pod
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, evaluate outcomes and challenge conventional wisdom. Self-starter and results-oriented, able to work under minimal mentorship. Intellectual curiosity and desire to learn new things, techniques, and technologies.
  • Seen as the go-to expert over multiple squads, is able to effectively utilize product functionality to drive big company objectives
  • End to end team output strategy from inception to production
  • Lead & facilitate in-person research to gain deep customer understanding and empathy.
  • You don’t believe in MVP, but MDP, Minimally Delightful Product.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders to ensure the digital vision and products align within team strategy and requirements
  • Accountable for product-specific KPIs once solution enters production and communicate regular tracking to stakeholders
  • Utilize market and industry knowledge to translate user needs into user stories and acceptance criteria for their team.
  • Maintain a backlog 3 to 4 sprints ahead of the team
  • Passion for understanding customer needs and pairing with data and great design to elegantly solve problems. Shown success being responsible for the product roadmap of significant customer-facing features and releasing via formation of hypotheses and experimentation.
  • Facilitates release planning with stakeholders as well as weekly demos
  • Key role on Agile team(s) and works onsite with the team daily
  • Integrates usability studies & research into product requirements to enhance user satisfaction and ensure customer-driven design
  • Create wireframes and UX design experience, with deep empathy for our customers.
  • Manage prioritization and trade-offs among the different project requirements
  • Think in terms of scalable systems, not just one-off solutions
  • Own and write comprehensive growth product feature specifications, user stories & epics

 

 

About You

 

To be successfully considered for this role, you must demonstrate the following skills and qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) required; or equivalent relevant experience
  • Proven knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the relevant industry
  • Strong collaborator with cross-functional teams from tech, design, and business
  • Proven knowledge & understanding of standard precision practices, technology & supporting industry principles
  • 7-10 years of experience with B2C digital products, setting product definitions and roadmaps, facilitating agile ceremonies, managing a backlog/release plan, tracking team level metrics, removing blockers (burndown chart, release burn up, etc.).
  • Understanding and knowledge of various roles at a retail branch level and how they interact with a product offering
  • Passion to challenge the status quo & find new solutions & drive out of the box ideas
  • Believes in a non-hierarchical culture of collaboration, transparency, safety, and trust
  • Not afraid to “roll up the sleeves” and seeks to go outside the comfort zone to learn and pushes teams to do the same
  • Empowers others to fail, learn, and grow
  • The experimental mindset to drive innovation
  • Demonstrated use/strong understanding of the cloud industry
