About the Role
To support the GM of Legal in all finance, banking, M&A and investment legal work for the Al Futtaim Group. The role will involve acting as internal legal counsel and will involve extensive dealings directly with the business of the group. The candidate will be required to have a strong background in reviewing, drafting and negotiating of finance, M&A and investment transactions. The role will offer and require flexibility in dealing with a variety of other types of transactions.
Working directly with GM-Legal this position requires an ability to interact professionally with senior executives on regular basis, to work well with all levels of internal management and staff as well as external parties, and to maintain high degree of confidentiality.
About the Responsibility
Supporting various other Al Futtaim Group departments in reviewing, drafting and negotiating all types of finance and banking services documentation, including debt facilities, hedging documentation and various banking services agreements.
Support the investment team in M&A work for the Group, including conducting due diligence, review and negotiation of letters of intent, sale and purchase agreements, confidentiality agreements.
Support for the family office team in all legal aspects related to investment management agreements, fund documents, custody agreements and other financial services arrangements.
About the Requirements
Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge: Professional legal qualifications (UK, EU, US or other equivalent). Transactional experience in the MENA region a plus.
Minimum Experience: 8 years relevant experience.
Job-Specific Skills: Must be fluent in written and spoken English. Arabic language skills a plus.
Behavioural Competencies: Must be competent and enthusiastic. Demonstrate strong legal acumen with a practical commercial approach, excellent drafting and communication skills and an ability to work well with a large and diverse team.
