                                     Sr. Manager Central Planning

 

Job Purpose:

  • Responsible for delivering key economic and market forecasts and insight to the Auto Exec Board and wider Al Futtaim Automotive stakeholders to drive sales strategy (short and long term) within the business units and ultimate achievement of the Auto Division’s sales ambitions.  In scope is all passenger cars, commercial vehicles, motorcycles in UAE and International markets including market segmentation and channel breakdown, stock ordering and inventory management.
  • Responsible for transforming current reporting in to relevant, efficient and accurate data-led insight through the design and implementation of BI analysis tools.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Market forecasts:

  • Leading the research and analysis of vehicle markets to deliver accurate forecasting by channel and segment in the short/medium/long term – identifying risks and opportunities for Al Futtaim Automotive Division.
  • Manage and challenge the Business Units’ sales planning objectives and actions through production of group vehicle reporting – in particular for performance management reviews, annual budget planning and Auto Exec Board steering.
  • Drive and evolve insightful market / competitor / economic reporting, demonstrating significant depth of knowledge and increasing the quality of information available to key stakeholders. Delivered on a Group wide basis, aligned to Automotive Division’s strategy objectives.  Facilitating value-add discussions across the Group based on these insights.
  • Own Automotive Division’s relationship with specialist consultancy firms covering multiple contracts (within a limited budget) to support the delivery of Market and Economic advice and forecasts – including the tendering for these contracts.

 

Target setting: Based on the market forecast, enable businesses units to build volume planning by channel and car lines.

 

Enable used and parts division: Through the improved market forecast enable used cars and parts division to ensure their budgets are aligned with the Automotive Division’s growth strategy.

 

 

Planning & Process Management:

  • Order take and Order bank reporting- Report order take and order banks monthly to Auto management for tracking.
  • Volume forecasting – Weekly, monthly and annually- Provide regular sales forecasts to Auto Management by car line, channel and location for performance management and tactical purposes.
  • Stock and Sales simulations- Track and enable Auto Management to overview stock and sales simulations and production requirements to achieve ideal stock index, ageing stock etc.
  • Business Planning meeting- Act as SME for all business units and provide governance and framework to ensure healthy stock, production, target setting etc.

 

New opportunities analysis: Act as a single point of contact for market and product planning to different teams with Automotive such as New Business Models, Strategy & Transformation.

 

Digitalisation:  Digitalise / automate all reports for Automotive Management related to stock, volume, market forecasting and manage the end to end process, data inputs and coordination with the brands.

 

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with demonstrated experience in planning/analysis.
  • MBA is desirable.

 

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum 5-8 years work experience in a multinational environment in leading Automotive brands.
  • Leadership experience – with evidence of delivering results through others.
  • Working knowledge of sales operations in OEM and/or retail.
  • Automotive Data Analysis.

  • Proven leadership skills with evidence of delivering results through their team
  • Self-starter with the ability to take ideas from creation to delivery through a complex organisation.
  • Ability to think strategically, and identify wider implications for AFG
  • Expertise in statistical and data analysis techniques, and their respective areas of specialism
  • Ability to join complex data from multiple sources in to an insightful and coherent theme
  • Excellent Commercial acumen and awareness; including automotive market trends, wider PESTLE factors and emerging consumer trends
  • Highly motivated with strong influencing, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Understanding of AFG systems
  • Systems development
  • Project Management experience
