  • ​This job is a member of the Marketing & Loyalty Team within the Marketing Division.
  • Senior Analyst / Analyst on the AAdvantage Co-Brand team, one of the largest co-brand credit card programs in the U.S., is responsible for a full range of strategic marketing projects designed to increase loyalty, grow credit card spend and retain American’s co-brand card customers.

What you'll do

  • Develop, execute and analyze credit card marketing programs to grow market share, increase loyalty and retention of our cardmembers
  • Lead all aspects of a product strategy including customer research and segmentation, business case development, go to market strategy development, marketing and optimization; with the end goal of new acquisitions and increased share of wallet with existing card members
  • Collaborate closely with issuer bank counterparts to identify key business and marketing objectives, and design/execute appropriate strategies by creating an optimal mix of marketing channels/campaigns, engagement tactics and promotional incentives
  • Measure and analyze performance of marketing campaigns to ensure revenue and profit optimization
  • Partner with issuer bank to execute customer engagement events throughout the year and determine and measure associated KPIs and success metrics to gauge effectiveness
  • Conduct detailed review of marketing collateral and liaise with internal parties to provide feedback on legal and strategic fit
  • Responsible for project management and cross-functional initiatives with external and internal stakeholders including AAdvantage, Digital, Marketing, Legal and IT
  • Projects involve quantitative and qualitative analysis, development of recommendations and written and/or oral presentations to senior management

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Marketing, Business, Finance, or equivalent training/experience
  • 3 or more years experience in business and/or marketing
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience in relationship management
  • Self-starter with proven capability to collaborate across cross-functional teams, build consensus, and bring ideas to fruition in a fast-paced environment
     

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • MBA/MS preferred
  • Experience in the financial industry, particularly with the credit card industry
  • Experience in product management, marketing, commercial marketing or related field
  • Product Management/Marketing expertise, including: market trends/analysis, NPI process, product roadmap development, product life-cycle management
  • Customer focused, highly analytical, thinks creatively and is persuasive with internal and external stakeholders to overcome obstacles
  • Ability to interpret and work with various data sets, measure performance and identify actionable ideas derived from data trends
  • Strong written and verbal communicator who is able to clearly convey thoughts and opinions in a variety of forums including presentations to senior management, discussions with external partners and interactions with peers
  • Proven leadership, organizational and negotiation skills with an ability to execute multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Some travel may be required
     

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • ​Ability to work independently, craft strategy and take such strategy towards completion
  • Able to manage large quantities of data in comprehensive way and demonstrate qualitative and quantitative analysis to management
  • Data analytics, reporting, financial modeling, and forecasting for sales projections, behavioral trending and market analysis
  • Partner relationships, particularly complex Asia contract negotiations, marketing approvals, promotion evaluations and funding
  • Manage projects with internal and external stakeholders
