- Support the accounting responsibilities within the Accounting Office. The position works among cross functional teams to ensure the accounting activities are appropriately analyzed, processed and documented in compliance with internal controls, process and procedure and local country regulations.
- The role is a part of the India team within our International Accounting group.
What you'll do
Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for the periodic processing of payrolls; ensuring payroll is processed accurately, timely and in compliance with all country specific statutory requirements and appropriate taxes and benefit withholdings are made
- Responsible for the related general ledger/financial statement accounting for payroll taxes and employee benefits
- Interact with managers to answer payroll and related questions; provide training/guidance as required
- Oversee the disbursement processes ensuring timely and accurate payment processing in compliance with company policy and legal requirements
- Monitoring cash account balances for each country
- Oversee account analysis, reconciliations, and preparation of journal entries to the general ledger
- Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings, payments, and supporting schedules
- Maintain the tax calendar to ensure all filings/payments are done timely to ensure fines and penalties are not incurred
- Supervises the day-to-day maintenance and projects associated with those areas of responsibility
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining strong internal controls to reduce risk of fraud and ensure strong internal controls over financial reporting that are in alignment with local laws and regulations and the Company’s policies and US regulations (such as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Sarbanes Oxley, PCI & PII.
- Responsible for staying abreast of regulatory labor and tax changes and work with peers to incorporate them into schedules, reports, and monthly procedures
- Provide technical direction and training to internal customers as necessary
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation efforts; working with internal customers and external suppliers to achieve results
- Assist the Accounting Manager with projects as requested and ad-hoc reporting as necessary
- Perform other duties as required

All you'll need for success
Essential
- University degree with a focus in Accounting or equivalent education/experience
- At least 3 years of experience in the related field
- Experience with international business practices, tax and labor laws
- Fluent in verbal and written English
- Demonstrated excellent qualitative and quantitative analytical skills
- Must possess critical thinking skills as well as being a strategic thinker
- Commitment to high standards, integrity and ethics
- Proficient with PC and Microsoft Office software (e.g., Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks
- Ability to deal with confidential subject matter
- Self-motivated with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
- Ability to work flexible hours when required
- Good team player
- Adaptable to change
Desirable
- CPA, ACCA, AAT, MBA or equivalent education/certification
- Demonstrated knowledge of airline accounting practices
- Demonstrated knowledge of SAP
- Ability to speak additional languages relevant for the countries of responsibility
