ABOUT THE ROLE :

 

PURPOSE:
This Job contributes to Al Futtaim Retail Success by managing store design processes and resources through creating store designs for regional retail market that holds the Al Futtaim Retail Customer experience, meeting Brand Principle Design expectations, cost, schedule and operational requirements, while working with a cross functional team. This models and acts in accordance with Al Futtaim Retail and Franchise guideline principles.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES :

 

Pre-Design / Planning Stage
1. Coordinate with Landlord on the LODs, site surveys, handover and all technical matters on the new projects in coordination with external consultants and the Al Futtaim Retail Leasing Department
2. Coordinate with brand principal on all technical matters for the initiation of their planning stage
3. Assist on the feasibility from technical and licensing perspective


Concept Design
1. Oversee Legal Documents on Design Consultant appointments i.e.Design Contract / MEP Design Contract
2. Deliver Store Concept Design in accordance with Brand Design Directives
3. Prepare and present New Concept Designs to Brand specific Management Team
4. Manage and coordinate concept design presentation to brands and brand principal.
5. Manage Design Cost in Line with Budgeted cost allocations for individual projects
6. Submit and Present Concept Design to respective Landlords.


Detail Design
1. Manage in generating complete detailed design packages for submission and construction of projects
2. Close coordination with the appointed Archi/ Interior consultant and brand principal to generate detailed design packages.
3. Work/ Coordinate with the Merchandising team and other internal team to develop appropriate design documents for projects.
4. Further Concept Design through to Detail Design, coordinating 3rd party Consultants on MEP Design, IT Design, Security Design,Audio Visual Design, Signage Design, Lighting Design and other
allied engineering services
5. Coordinate General Store Layouts in accordance with Operational Functionalities i.e. Sales Floor Trading Requirements / Back of House Operational Requirements
6. Present and Submit Detail Design Packs to Landlord, Brand Principles and Al Futtaim Retail Division 

 

Tender Process
1. Initiate the handover of detailed design packages to Procurement and Project department for tendering stage
2. Assist the Procurement and Project Team on the tender queries and RFI process and ensure all relevant documentation and due diligence completed.

 

Management
1. Manage and Drive the Design process from initiation to tender pack completion including Site Surveys, Concept Design, Detail Design Packages
2. Conduct site visits to ensure Design Specific Criteria is implemented according to Design Directives
3. Assist and Answer Site Design Queries during the Site Implementation Phase
4. Coordinate Electronic Archiving of relevant Design Documentation i.e. Drawings / Contracts / Specifications / Material Sample Boards
5. Administrative duties include project scheduling, planning meetings, and processing expense reports.
6. Manage/ Lead designers to develop appropriate design documents for projects.
7. Coordinate with Architect consultants & Project Manager in securing approval on all Authority compliancy
8. Review and approved vendors / tenants design & drawings are in accordance with the rules and regulations set by RSD. 

 

ABOUT YOU

 

We are looking for someone who has a very good Knowledge of Interior Design principles, Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings, understanding of engineering
terminology, Some drafting skills and Retail Project Management Coordination Skill.

The Minimum Experience and Knowledge: Minimum three years experience working in a Retail Design Office in the GCC in the capacity of a Retail / Interior Designer. Creative Design Awareness , Design Trend Awareness, Assertiveness, Negotiation skills, Planning and Organizing skills, Time management skills, Communication skills and Decision Making Skill
Job-Specific Skills:
Constant communication with various stakeholders as well as 3rd parties, a strong level of negotiation and command is
required. Your planning and organising skills will be second to none as well as your ability to use your creative eye when it comes to planning and design process in relation to Retail Design.
