Al Futtaim Automotive is currently recruiting for a HSSE Officer (UAE National) to be based in Dubai office to support operation HSSE function.
About The Role:
Enforcement of HSSE rules and regulations to ensure full compliance with the local requirements, while current processes adapted at each assigned site is assessed constantly to improve these standards to required local and internal level.
- First focal point for Incident Reporting
- Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Action checking, Preventive Action Advising.
- Assist the respective business’s HSSE managers in the organizations of various emergency mock drills with the respective HSSE managers.
- Follow-up with Roads & Transport Authority, Municipality and any other Government Authorities to constantly be updated on standard requirements and ensure full compliance to avoid penalties.
- Actively participate in company’s Internal Audit process.
- Conduct full survey of all facilities on a monthly basis (or as requested by Line Manager) to ensure compliance with the standard requirements is achieved and maintained.
- Update Registers on Lost Time Injuries/ Accidents/ Incidents/ Near Misses/ Usages of Fuel/ GPS Data etc.
- Conduct on job HSSE trainings, toolbox talks.
- Generate Daily/Weekly/Monthly reports pertaining to HSSE and report to Line Manager.
- Perform work area checks for all the departments/ camp/ client’s premises using company format on a fortnightly basis.
- Actively participate in all client’s HSSE seminars/ workshops/ trainings & events.
- Support the company with the HSSE aspects of event management during annual and quarterly ceremonies.
- Assist in the organization of HSSE trainings such as Fire Fighting, First Aid, Safe Driving, etc.
- Complete all HSSE targets set by the company.
- This role demands continuous travel between assigned sites to carry out designated duties and to support emergencies. Successful candidate must be always reachable on the phone 24/7 to support business unit demands within and outside business operational hours. Fuel expenses for business travels may be reimbursed as per company policy.
- On certain occasions, the HSSE Team will be assigned special tasks (Example: Event Safety & Security Management) by the project stakeholders. These events may fall on public holidays. Attendance will be mandatory to ensure the safety of the personnel. Compensatory time off will be given in the case where HSSE team members are required to attend duty on their official day/s off.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Loss prevention
- Increase HSSE related hazard/gap identification & reporting by 65% through regular Inspections on all assigned business units to drive the achievement of a 45% reduction in preventable incidents by assigning appropriate action plans and implementing corrective and preventative measures to prevent loss of health, life, assets and reputation on the HSSE related gaps & Hazards that have been identified.
Permit-To-Work System Control & Compliance
- Minimize the risks to which Automotive premises/assets/personnel are exposed to by ensuring that all 3rd party contractors/workers possess an approved Permit that is signed by an authorized HSSE representative prior to the commencement of their activities on site.
- Ensure that the SOP for identification, verification, inspection/monitor and control of personnel is carried out as per company regulations.
3rd Party Security Manpower Management & Development
- Monitor, assign, train and develop the security personnel to improve the security control and operations.
- Analyse business security needs and accordingly coordinate additions/reductions in manpower through LM.
Documentation & Inventory Management
- Maintain accurately updated HSSE Folders for the site which includes all HSSE related site documents, certifications, layouts, system & equipment Inventory, manpower assignment and attendance, blacklisted personnel, Permit-To-Work copies with its supporting documents, inspections, incidents, facility plan, policies and procedures.
Government Affairs
- Build & maintain a strong relationship with Governmental Entities to act as the main point of contact (in coordination with the department Head) to facilitate effective business support by constantly being up-to-date with the latest local regulations to ensure full compliance at all times and protect the business from financial loss (accidents, legal claims, violations, etc.)
About You:
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS
Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge
- High School Certification
- Fire fighter/ First Aider / Security Minimum Experience:
- 2 years in HSSE or Security would be a plus.
