    Analysts will use outstanding analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills within a results-oriented approach to work on a wide variety of high-impact network projects that analyze complex business issues with a high degree of breadth and depth.

    Fleet Analysis:
    The Fleet Analysis team works collaboratively across the Commercial, Finance and Operations organizations to determine the optimal aircraft fleet the network needs and ensure their seating configuration (LOPAs) are highly efficient and profit-maximizing. Analysts will help answer questions that seek to determine how many airplanes the company needs, what types of airplanes we should fly, and determine optimal cabin layouts.

    Network Innovation:
    Network Innovation is the “R&D” team supporting Network Planning and Commercial teams. Its primary goal is to generate, evaluate, and operationalize ideas to improve our network competitiveness and strengthen the long-term profitability of our enterprise. Analysts will operate at the intersection of commercial strategy and operational performance, combining network scheduling, strategic thinking, and analytical capabilities to produce a 5-Year Network Plan for the airline. This 5-Year Network Plan aims to determine the strategic direction of the company and helps answer questions such as what hubs we should grow, how do we best deploy airplane assets, and seeks to identify how we create a more profitable network.

What you'll do

  • Collaborate teams across the business to form hypotheses, lead research and analysis, and develop solutions and recommendations that influence the strategic direction of the airline
  • Use outstanding analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills within a results-oriented approach to work on a wide variety of high-impact network projects that analyze complex business issues with a high degree of breadth and depth
  • Apply rigorous data analysis (Excel, Tableau, and internal databases), scheduling tools, profitability forecasts, and other analytical methods to identify initiatives to improve profitability and integrate initiatives into schedules
  • Assist in production of the 5-year Network Plan that drives the company toward executing on common long-term commercial and operational strategy goals while working collaboratively with key internal stakeholders across the commercial, operational and financial teams
  • Build and maintain flight profitability models that combine passenger revenue spill models and forecast airplane operating expenses to determine airplane deployment profitability when evaluating new LOPAs (cabins), new airplane types, and new airplane deployments
  • Develop scheduling projects that impact airline operations – including optimized hub bank structures and airplane fleet deployments
  • Produce short and long-term network scheduling scenarios using Air Vision Schedule Manager while serving as a network and scheduling SME for rest of the Strategic Planning and Analysis group – supporting analysis of airplane LOPA development and deployment, alliance partner integration, competitor analysis and infrastructure/gating projects
  • Apply analytical modeling and data optimizing methods using advanced MS Excel to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision-making, policy formulation, growth evaluation and financial analyses
  • Perform validation of models to ensure adequacy, define data requirements, and gather and validate information, applying judgement and statistical tests
  • Develop performance measurements and analytical tools to improve profitability and planning / forecasting processes
  • Develop periodic reports on a wide range of strategic and tactical analyses / projects outlining key business drivers and explain variances against budget
  • Analyze data derived from various areas, such as booking activity, fleet analyses, market trends, ROI analyses, performance and budget analyses, profitability statistics, previous campaign results, site statistics, marketing efforts, revenue management, and pricing trends in order to devise strategies to increase revenue and profitability
  • Interact with other groups including Corporate Real Estate, Finance, Network Planning, Revenue Management, Sales, Marketing, various operational groups, Joint Business partners and Regional affiliates

All you'll need for success

  • Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience/training
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in airline Network Planning/Scheduling, Revenue Management, Travel/Transportation Commercial Strategy or similar analytical field, or master’s degree in a related field
  • Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
    • Knowledge of Air Vision Schedule Manager
    • Rigorous data analysis experience with tools such as Excel, Tableau, SAS, SQL or other data analysis tools
  • Skills, Licenses & Certifications
    • Eager to solve complex problems and puzzles in a constrained and dynamic environment
    • Ability to leverage understanding of the airline business and commercial goals to draw insights, drive results, and create innovative solutions
    • Adaptive to new ideas and business processes in an ever-changing marketplace
    • Ability to perform in cross-functional groups with minimal supervision to drive outcomes which benefit the entire airline
    • Skilled at sharing knowledge to develop the expertise of the team as a whole
