This role will be responsible for managing the performance of our benefits administration vendor(s), ensuring accuracy of benefits eligibility, resolving team member escalations, handling claims & appeals, and executing benefits administration functions/processes with quality assurance and control

What you'll do

  • Manages the performance of benefits administration vendors ensuring timeliness, accuracy, reporting, and compliance with contractual obligations and service level agreements
  • Builds relationships with union and internal labor leadership and resolves complicated day to day and contractually related benefits issues 
  • Represents the benefits organization in cross-departmental projects and ensures that systems including HRIS, payroll, etc. are designed and operating correctly from a benefits standpoint 
  • Collaborates with Legal, Communications, Vendors, and other stakeholders to develop and review benefit communications 
  • Leads process and performance improvement initiatives in partnership with vendors to enhance member experience 
  • Manage a team of benefits professionals to deliver results through effective collaboration 

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/training
  • 5 years of Benefits Administration experience in a highly unionized environment is required

 

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Experience with Benefits Administration Vendors, Payroll, and HRIS systems and processes
  • Proven experience in benefits administration vendor management and eligibility requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of benefits administration and regulations

 

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Ability to enhance team member processes and procedures through continuous improvement initiatives
