The Benefits Delivery Specialist is a member of the Benefits team within the People organization and will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate resolution of benefits questions and escalations. This role will actively interface with other People team members, Unions, Legal and AA’s external benefits administrator or other vendors to support operational excellence and the delivery of a positive team member experience as it relates to health benefits.
What you'll do
- Work with team members, participants and other internal customers to resolve benefits questions
- Promptly follow up on questions and resolve issues timely
- Interpret benefit administration rules, plan requirements and labor agreements
- Develop and document processes and requirements as it relates to the delivery of benefits
- Direct and monitor external suppliers to ensure the highest quality delivery of service in accordance with benefits delivery rules and processes
- Drive continuous process improvements to enhance the team member and retiree experience, ensuring the highest efficiency in the administration process
- Draft and review benefits communications and websites
- Other duties as prescribed
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/training
- 2 years minimum Benefits experience and/or 2 years of other HR or Healthcare experience
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Working knowledge of benefit plans
- Prior experience with ensuring vendor operational excellence
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
- Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to travel (15-25%)
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize work, with emphasis on accuracy, timeliness, and operational excellence
- Ability to independently research issues using strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills required with the ability to effectively communicate with multiple levels of internal and external partners to achieve common goals
- Effective team player with the ability to collaborate, as well as work independently
- Must meet strict deadlines, with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, changing, and complex benefits environment
- Self-motivated individual with the passion and desire to obtain additional knowledge and experience across multiple areas of the organization
