The Junior Product Manager creates product roadmaps and defines the strategic vision for their team/product, in consultation with the wider Product Team, driven by the overall vision.
S/he will have a have a basic to intermediate understanding of the target market/industry and build close relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that the team’s effort is aligned with overall strategy. A Junior Product Manager manages dependencies with other team’s functions while identifying, building and managing strategic partnership across the different teams. S/He will work closely within their team to ensure business value and user feedback is translated into new developments when necessary. The Junior Product manager will be accountable for specific business KPIs based on the area of the product they are focused on.

 

Description of the Tasks:

  • Set ambitious and clear product vision, in consultation with and communicate it effectively to stakeholders, the team, and the rest of the pod.
  • End to end team output strategy from inception to production.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders to ensure digital vision and products align within team strategy and requirements.
  • Accountable for product specific KPIs once solution enters production and communicate regular tracking to stakeholders.
  • Utilize market and industry knowledge to translate user needs into user stories and acceptance criteria for their team.
  • Maintain a backlog 3 to 4 sprints ahead of the team.
  • Works closely with Senior Product Manager to establish each product’s business value and support messaging, communication and customer outreach as necessary.
  • Facilitates release planning with stakeholders as well as weekly demos.
  • Integrates usability studies & research into product requirements to enhance user satisfaction and ensure customer driven design.
  • Own and write comprehensive growth product feature specifications, user stories & epics.

 

Education: 
Bachelor 's degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) preferred; or equivalent relevant experience


Minimum Experience and Knowledge:  

  • Proven knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the relevant industry
  • Strong collaborator with cross-functional teams from tech, design, and business
  • Proven knowledge & understanding of standard precision practices, technology & supporting industry principles
  • 3-5 years of Experience with B2C digital products
  • Understanding and knowledge of various roles at a retail branch level and how they interact with product offering
  • 3-5 years of experience in setting product definitions and roadmaps
  • at least 3 years of experience in facilitating agile ceremonies, managing a backlog/release plan, tracking team level 
  • metrics, removing blockers (burndown chart, release burn up,etc)
  • 3-5 years of experience leading with teams in an agile setting
  • at least 3 years of experience working with Software development teams
  • Passion to challenge the status quo & find new solutions & drive out of the box ideas

Job-Specific/Technical Skills required to complete the tasks:

  • Basic understanding of any programming language apart from HTML to enable rich discussions with engineers and designers
