• This job is a member of the Finance Team within the Finance Division.
• Responsible for all aspects of accounting activity related to the carriage of mail between American Airlines Cargo and various postal administrations

   

What you'll do

• Responsible for all aspects of receivables management for 40+ foreign postal administrations
• Reconciliation and analysis of payment to partner airlines for carriage of interline mail
• Analysis of mail revenue and scan data to identify and resolve areas of risk or exposure for lost revenue
• Calculation of revenue accruals including but not limited to revenue, receivable and bad debt
• Tracking, analysis and true up of accruals using both AA and postal administration data
• Identification, analysis and capture of mail revenue not captured through normal channels
• Reporting, tracking, and managing system defects related to the mail module
• Generate and send invoices for foreign postal administrations
• Create and upload payment files based on detail received from postal administrations
• Interact with outside parties including the various postal administrations, other airlines, country controller offices and third-party vendors.
• Ad hoc analysis and projects as assigned

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field or equivalent experience/training
• Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects and deadlines concurrently and successfully
• Strong data mining skills as well as very strong skills in Microsoft Access and/or other database systems
• Team player with strong interpersonal, presentation and written communication ski
• Strong PC skills including Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint
• Knowledge of Mosaic, Power BI, Tableau a plus
• Strong Presentation skills
• Aptitude for problem solving with strong analytical and accounting skills
• Ability to logically structure analysis of complex issues and develop creative solutions to challenges

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
• Self-starter with proven track record of demonstrating analytical aptitude
• General knowledge of accounting principles
