About the Role
We are currently looking for Head of Data Engineering and Operations to act as a trusted strategic advisor to the Chief Data Officer and Management team on all Data Engineering related matters for Al Futtaim. To ensure a keen understanding of the business so as to devise and implement the data platform of Al Futtaim.
About the Responsibilities
Divisional and Group Data Strategy
Contribute to the development of the Group Data Strategy that supports the expansion, development, growth and performance of the AFG EIT.
In liaison with the Business/Functional Heads, MDs and vertical IT Director help in implementing the Group Data strategy aligned to business strategic priorities and Architecture Principles.
Manage the prioritisation and implementation of the Data Strategy.
Support the implementation of group Transformation initiative
Demand Management and Business Optimisation
Assist business to identify opportunities (opportunity analysis, operating model maturity analysis, audit reports, internal/external innovation, etc.) to improve/grow/expand their businesses and the maturity of operating models. Prioritise and validate opportunities against Divisional Data Strategy. Implement and track benefit delivery in collaboration with EIT and the Business.
System Management & Development Installation and Deployment
Lead and integrate delivery of application & infrastructure teams to deliver solutions, maintain systems and provide system support against agreed service levels in line with the Enterprise Target Architecture (ETA). Lead a portfolio of multiple projects, managing resourcing, time-lines, budgets, and quality of deliverables in conjunction with EIT
Protect Al-Futtaim Group’s data and information assets by minimizing business service disruptions without putting the Group at unacceptable level of security risk.
Maintain Information security awareness within unit/country
Leadership & Team Management
Build a lean, skilled and fully engaged team. Develop team in line with target competencies and build bench strength in team. Promote and fast-track your talent within Al-Futtaim. Prepare and manage budgets based on annual strategy review and planning cycle. Establish and manage relationships with key vendors. Build industry relationships to stay abreast with latest developments, innovation and [Vertical] business direction
Governance
Ensure governance structures are established to manage IT Projects and to manage demand at Executive Level. Ensure compliance with IT Policies, Security Standards and strengthen internal controls. Identify and manage key risks in [Vertical] business
About the Requirements
Education: University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline. Business management degrees desirable (MBA/MS)
Minimum Experience and Knowledge:
10+ years’ experience in Data Engineering and support environment in SAP and Azure Data Platform
3+ years of experience in at least 2 business domains like Retail, Automotive, Finance, Real Estate, Group services (HR, Marketing, Finance etc)
A minimum of 5 years in a professional senior technical role such as technical lead, team lead, architect, or other hands on leadership role ideally for a major organization, consultancy or system integrator.
5 years of Vendor management from a Product and System integrator perspective
Technology Skills (required) – SAP BI/HANA, Data engineering on Azure, Knowledge of SAP ERP
Job-Specific Skills:
Solution design and implementation experience analytical programs/demands
Technology domain expertise in Automotive / Retail / Real Estate/ Finance/ Treasury/ Insurance sectors
Demand and support management in a dynamic environment
Managing Delivery and support teams of up 10 people
Data integration experience from multiple systems including ERP/CRM/BI/POS systems
