- This job is a member of the Caribbean Sales Team within the Sales Organization, part of the Customer Division. This team manages a very important revenue stream for American Airlines’ indirect channels and influences commercial decisions that directly impact our bottom-line revenue.
- Responsible for leading American Airlines revenue recovery and future success in the Caribbean market.
What you'll do
- Oversees the workflow and throughput for a small team of Channel Sales Specialists to ensure efficiency and optimal territory management.
- Coaches the team to develop strong skills in value-based selling, account strategy and the AA sales process.
- Guides new account acquisition activity and supports the team to successfully penetrate accounts to meet and exceed the assigned commercial objectives, which include: revenue, market share and yield goals.
- Acts as the voice of the customer (VOC) for our agency partners and travel advisor community internally across our commercial teams.
- Establishes partnerships with key travel agencies, tour operators, consortia or other players and represents American Airlines and its Joint Business partners, including British Airways and Japan Airlines.
- Develops the strategy and goals for each account, executing the strategy, monitoring and reporting results and implementing initiatives to improve performance.
- Takes ownership to ensure the overall value proposition of American Airlines is competitive in respect to pricing, commissions, backend incentives and other elements.
- Maintains account profile information, sales initiatives and strategies in AA’s CRM tool, Sales Hub, and uses planning tools such as account and call planners.
- Takes on additional projects and relationship management with other organizations, such as Tourism Boards, Travel Associations, Hotel Chains, etc.
- Stays up-to-date on the network, product and services offered by American, its partner airlines and competitors..
- Must be willing to travel up to 75% for business as needed.
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/training
- 4 years related work experience
- 2 years successful B2B sales experience and/or industry experience
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Knowledge and expertise of the Caribbean travel market
- Commercial acumen with previous experience in Sales
- GDS and/or online booking tool expertise, including ability to research fare rules and conduct competitive analysis
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
- Ability to make sense of large datasets, including use of pivot tables, tableau reports and other source of management information
- Displays a high level of initiative to identify and implement activities that promote sales
- Ability to persuade and overcome objections with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to present to multiple audiences, either in person or virtually
- Strong sales acumen and account planning
- Strong collaboration, negotiation, and organization skills
- Ability to work in a highly diverse team environment
- Ability to manage workload and manage time in a strategic way
- Knowledge of key airline metrics (e.g., RASM, Market Share, Load Factor) and how sales efforts contribute to airline profitability
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of the AA network and competitive landscape
