What you'll do

Deliver solutions within the Data Services Product Group, initially focusing on the Data Movement Product leveraging Message Oriented Middleware and Enterprise Service Bus products.

Support and Maintain Enterprise MQ services:

• Review new customer requests for queuing needs
• Design and implement the queue managers in non-prod and production environments
• Migrate subscribers between MQ platforms.
• Administration, installation and configuration of IBM Web Sphere MQ product
• Create documentation and release notes.

Troubleshoot, debug and resolve complex middleware issues across development, testing, and production environments 
Encourage an environment of sharing and team work,  Provide guidance to lower level technicians and assist when and where necessary
Collaborate with leaders, business analysts, project managers, IT architects, technical leads and other developers, along with internal customers, to understand requirements and develop needs according to business requirements 
Stay current with the latest trends in Message Oriented Middleware products, both Off-Prem in the cloud and On-Prem.  Work closely with software architects and technical leads to ensure decisions meet long-term enterprise growth needs 
Support the development of coding standards and adhere to best practices and security guidelines for Message Oriented Middleware products.
Support communication and response by responding to users on system issues, maintenance, and advising and escalating on any prolonged or major issues.
Participate in design and code reviews.
Work with application development teams in an agile software development environment. 
Mandatory rotational schedule for on-call off-hours support
 

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems(CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
• 5 years of hands-on experience with IBM Web Sphere MQ 
  • MQ-based development and design
  • MQ series deployment and configuration management
  • IBM Websphere MQ Architecture and Deployment experience
  • MQ Services Application Integration
  • Administration, installation and configuration of IBM Web Sphere MQ product. 
• JAVA Coding Experience, installation and configuration of Open source Messaging products like RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ or Kafka 
• 3+ years of experience working in a challenging environment with the technical architecture of a large enterprise. 
• A team player who works and communicates well with technical and non-technical resources. Excellent oral and written communication skills and possess the ability to work with limited direction while being highly productive.  
• Ability to thrive in a sense-of-urgency environment and leverage best practices.

 

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS),Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
• Ability to look at application code and troubleshoot application connectivity issues.  
• Experience working with an application development team in an agile software development environment
• Knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, HTML and other front-end languages.  
• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular JS, React 
• Working experience with server-side languages such as Java, Python, Ruby 
• Working knowledge of API development. Typescript, Node JS, REST API, JSON 
• Working experience using Git in a continuous integration and continuous delivery environment. 
• Working knowledge of Enterprise File transfer applications 
• Working knowledge of Enterprise Service Bus architectures
