  • This job is a member of the Global Travel Agency Sales Team within the Sales Division.
  • Position primarily targets a combination of undefined and defined set of medium-to-large corporate accounts where their primary responsibility is to convert to a contracted relationship with American Airlines. Position will focus on hunting for these corporate accounts, as well as channeling smaller opportunities to the New Business Team. A drive to find new business, relationship building, value based selling, and laser focused deal design is critical to success in this role.

What you'll do

  • Works within a defined set of non-contracted accounts to grow their business through a corporate contracted program.  
  • Continuously hunts for new leads to help augment their territory or to pass on to other division/corporate account managers for proper leadership and coverage management
  • Establishes new relationships and wins business with the goal of eventually handing off to an Account Manager to further develop the business partnership.
  • Designs and executes value-based selling strategies to position American as the preferred airline supplier with customers.
  • Represents American Airlines at various functions and events.
  • Schedules weekly coaching sessions with Regional Sales Manager on account performance and marketplace challenges to assist in the development of short and long term action plans
  • Continuously self-educates on account programs, performance and “what if” analyzers
  • Monitors the competitive landscape
  • Travel Required

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/training
  • 3+ years of sales experience

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Travel industry experience
  • Territory, Account, and Call Planning Expertise 

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Great communication skills at all levels
  • Self-motivated and goal oriented
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Able to build relationships across the organization
  • Active in social selling
  • Proven record of managing a sales pipeline
  • Knowledge of Sales experience  
  • Knowledge of Corporate Travel programs and design
  • Knowledge of Sabre, SalesHub, Cognos, Sharepoint
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with deadlines assigned by Manager
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels both verbally and written
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage projects
  • Aptitude for problem solving
  • Strong project management skills required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Ability to convey value of American’s network, product and program to the customers
  • Understanding of the airline’s network, products, and services as well as the competition
  • Ability to travel
