What you'll do

  • Supports the AA Safety Management System in hazard identification and risk mitigation. 
  • Collects reports, conduct analysis and create presentations through the AA Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Supports the data analytics and reporting requirements of Flight Service, Flight Service Policies & Procedures, Safety, APFA and other AA stakeholders.
  • Attends, facilitates and presents analysis and recommendations at meetings and working groups as directed.
  • Supports the LOSA Senior Manager in selection, training, calibration and monthly scheduling of Flight Service LOSA Observers.
  • Supports the daily administration of the Flight Service LOSA Program in accordance with the program’s governance.   
  • Maintains data collection software analysis and confidential data archive.
  • Maintains secure access to data (Safety Data SharePoint site and Tableau).
  • Establishes and coordinates data-derived targets for safety enhancements through Flight Service LOSA data.
  • Supports recurring Flight Service SMS meetings as a primary data provider and facilitator.
  • Provides feedback of results to program stakeholders and line flight attendants.

All you'll need for success

Minimum Requirements – Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 3 years of related experience

 

Preferred Requirements - Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Degree or specialization in Aviation or Human Factors
  • Experience in Line Operations Safety Audits

 

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Understanding of Threat & Error Management concept and how it is applied within a safety organization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to influence and effectively communicate with all levels of employees across the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including professional presentation skills.
  • The ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels within the organization, as well as external agencies to include the FAA and labor associations.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to prepare reports based on data analysis. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite. Previous experience with Tableau preferred.
  • Preferred FAA Certificate of Demonstrated Proficiency and/or operational airline experience
