  • This job is a member of the AAdvantage Domestic Co-Brand Team within the Customer Loyalty & Insights Division. This position will be responsible for the strategy, management, growth, and profitability of the Barclays Existing Cardmember (ECM) portfolio. Projects will vary from working with Bank partner and AA internal teams on card member education, to leading the strategy and execution of highly visible customer communications and identifying ways to optimize our channels performance.

What you'll do

  • Manages the Barclays ECM relationship on a daily basis and collaborates extensively with internal departments throughout American Airlines
  • Supports portfolio operations including day-to-day contact with Barclays, technical and operational project management, key indicator tracking, and invoice approvals
  • Partners with Barclays to plan and develop strategies for achieving full-year business objectives
  • Develops and support ongoing communications plans, including coordination with agencies, copywriting, ensuring adherence to brand standards and receiving internal workgroup approvals.
  • Serves as product owner for multiple channels, by managing, reporting, and identifying new opportunities for growth; and coordinating between stakeholders and technology teams for ongoing updates and upgrades
  • Manages relationship with agency and optimizes annual marketing budget to achieve annual growth and engagement objectives for the AA co-brand card business
  • Works closely with AA cross-functional partners to track performance of channels to ensure revenue and profit optimization
  • Serves as an internal advocate for the program’s interests by identifying new opportunities for visibility and growth of the program
  • Develops presentation of recommendations that help the senior management team navigate through key issues in the partnership and make decisions to maximize the value for American  
  • Conducts a detailed review of Barclays marketing collateral and liaises with internal parties to provide feedback on legal and strategic fit
  • Interacts frequently with Legal, AA.com, Integrated Marketing, Revenue Management, and AAdvantage Customer Service
  • Responsible for project management including coordination and communication both internally and externally

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Economics, or equivalent experience/training
  • 3 years of work experience 

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Experience in a strategic role
  • Experience in the financial industry, particularly in the credit card industry
  • Proven leadership, organizational, and negotiation skills with the ability to execute multiple initiatives simultaneously

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Ability to prioritize, work independently, craft strategy and take such strategy towards completion
  • Customer-focused, highly-analytical, thinks creatively, and is persuasive with internal and external stakeholders
  • Innovative problem solver who can take an idea from concept to execution
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience in relationship management
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all levels within the organization
  • Ability to think creatively and collaboratively about how to deliver incremental value to American
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel as some travel may be required
