This position will provide support and expertise within the Absence Management team by leading companywide initiatives and projects related to FMLA, attendance policies, leaves of absence, state/municipal leave policies and lost time practices. This individual will not only support the Absence Management team, but collaborate throughout the organization including with Operations, Finance, People team, Legal and Labor.
What you'll do

- Understanding the applicable attendance policies as well as FMLA regulations
- Monitoring team members attendance records and ensuring that attendance policies are being administered appropriately (discussions and documentation)
- Ensuring that any pending FMLA or Medical Leave cases have been adjudicated prior to progression under the attendance policy
- Ensuring that all activities are completed for team members who are being progressed through the attendance process
- Coordinating pre-termination meeting activities with Team Member Relations, Workers Compensation, Labor, Legal, Business Units and local leadership to ensure timely progression
- Identifying deficiencies in complying with our policies and/or FMLA and ensuring that they are addressed prior the team member being subjected to discipline or termination
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience directly relevant to the job’s duties
- In-depth knowledge and experience with Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and company medical leaves.
- 3 years of experience in FMLA case management
Preferred Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience
- DMEC FMLA Medical Certification Process Microcredential Certificate
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent oral and written communication including presentation skills
- Ability to lead and influence
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Proficient in Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project
- Ability to work independently and prioritize and manage multiple assignments simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Skilled in the ability to analyze problems objectively

- Ability to have reliable and predictable attendance
