This role is part of our LHR aircraft stores/supply team within the Technical Operations division. 

Reporting to the Regional Supply Manager, you’ll provide front-line leadership to a team of Materials Logistics Specialists in a fast paced airside environment to ensure a safe and reliable operation. In addition to day to day Stores management, the varied role also involves logistics, import/export, and assisting European American Airlines stations and other airlines with AOG assistance.  
 

What you'll do

  • Ensure all MLS are provided with operational leadership and their tasks are communicated effectively throughout the day
  • Maintain the aircraft parts stockroom in accordance with strict Customs/FAA controls
  • Import/export logistics – airwaybill creation, commercial invoices, customs declarations and clearance
  • Handling of hazardous/high value shipments (correct packaging, identifying Dangerous Goods for transport in accordance with IATA regulations)
  • Process all documentation and transactions, both manually and in inventory systems
  • Ad-hoc commercial purchasing decisions when required
  • Liaise/organize with other airlines and stations in sourcing and transporting emergency aircraft parts (AOG)
  • Assistance at other European locations when required
  • Inventory stocktaking, cycle counts, identifying and control of shelf life items
  • Recognize and adapt to changes in procedures and inventory control systems
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, manuals and audit requirements
  • Complete administration duties and daily/monthly reports
  • Coordinate daily work schedule (ensuring appropriate shift coverage) 
  • Enforce compliance with MLS uniform/dress/grooming standards
  • Ensure required MLS training is completed and reported as required

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • A good level of literacy and numeracy

  • Physically fit with good color vision to perform manual stock handling and movement

  • Good working knowledge of AA inventory systems or equivalent aerospace parts management systems

  • Be an excellent communicator & effective listener

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Knowledge of Stores policies, procedures and standards

  • Ability to adapt and take control in unforeseen circumstances, such as AOG situations 

  • Be able to select, motivate and evaluate team members

  • Be self-motivated and open to development

  • Be willing and able to work in a shift environment including weekends and bank holidays when required

  • Be willing and able to travel according to business needs when required

  • Have the ability to read, understand, explain, and enforce Company and Governmental policies, procedures and regulations

  • Be reliable and punctual

  • Be willing to assume additional responsibility in a temporary position when required

  • Have a full UK Driving licence
