The Director, Turn Performance Technology will support the company’s focus on significantly improving Turn Performance within the airport operations.  This position is a high impact, technical individual contributor role with the sole purpose of providing technical leadership by combining the optimization of business processes and technology solutions that will deliver the improved Turn Performance metrics.  This role will work with senior leadership, business groups and product teams in developing a cohesive, actionable plan to optimize the turn through automation across supporting products.

What you'll do

  • Determines the technical designs and direction to dramatically improve and sustain Turn Performance improvements
  • Facilitates Value Stream Mapping activities to identify waste in the overall Turn and responsible for the technical delivery roadmap to drive efficiencies
  • Experiments and drives incremental improvements to solution quality, particularly as it improves the experiences of our customers and front-line employees
  • Designs solutions that consider all the major aspects of the Turn across a portfolio of products (Control Center, Airport Agent, Gate Management, Baggage, Staff Management, Ground Event Tracker, ConnectMe, Crew Management, Vendor Applications, and IOC suite of tools) by developing/working with the product leaders and resolving blocking issues
  • Creates dashboards and reports from our Data Lake that show the value and effectiveness of our solutions, driving the necessary data into the appropriate places and formats with the right linking attributes to make the strategy work
  • Collaborates across all technical delivery teams and ensures achievement of OKRs and alignment of delivery for key operational policies and procedures

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Demonstrates the highest level of ethics and integrity
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training.
  • 8 years of experience in logistics or operations technology
  • 5 years of technical leadership experience, including experience leading other technical leaders

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Advanced Degree preferred

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering and operating vital and critical applications
  • Proven ability to analyze complex systems involving multiple applications
  • Extensive experience in technical architectural design skills
  • Experience in designing optimization solutions that process large data sets with complex rules in a way that can meet stated time windows for execution
  • Experience in simple and scalable integration techniques that allow existing applications to be adapted into a larger solution
  • Demonstrated ability to apply the simplest solution available as a means to make rapid, and then iterative, improvement
  • Deep understanding of the most effective monitoring techniques that deliver actionable alerts, not a lot of noise, and clear diagnostic data
  • Strong grasp of graceful error handling techniques, so that solutions are always produced, even if they are suboptimal in certain cases
  • Experience in large scale production testing techniques to prove out resiliency and accuracy of solution

  • Strong ability to lead collaboratively in a Product Model, leverage Value Stream Mapping techniques
  • Experience in data visualization techniques and design
  • Ability to overcome Product team barriers to successful implementation, both by adapting solutions to simplify their execution, as well as leveraging senior leaders to adjust backlog priorities, where needed
  • Ability to understand current business priorities and define the quickest path to make progress
  • Good listening skills, and the ability to lead with humility
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to effectively and clearly communicate problems and potential solutions; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
