Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **POSITION INFORMATION** Role Summary The Director of IT Enterprise Architecture ensures business strategy and relevant trends are expressed in the Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air's technology. This Director leads the program to develop, maintain, govern, and evolve IT enterprise architecture. The role defines IT enterprise architecture and architecture review processes and leads effective integration with other related business and IT processes. Scope & Complexity This leadership role directs IT enterprise architecture teams and activities for Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. Key Duties - Directs the creation and evolution of the enterprise architecture function, including coordination of an appropriately balanced pursuit of enterprise business, information, technical, and solution architecture viewpoints. - Leads the identification and analysis of enterprise business drivers to derive enterprise business, information, technical, and solution architecture requirements. - Creates, leads and implements an architecture framework that continuously fits business need. - Leads, guides and implements future technology capabilities our built on a solid architecture foundation that sets up ITS for success. - Leads and defines architecture practices for a product delivery based organization. - Analyzes the current business and IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement. - Leads and facilitates the creation of governing principles to guide solution decision making for IT architecture. - Directs the development of an implementation plan for enterprise architecture based on business requirements and IT strategies. - Consults with program/project/product teams to fit solutions to architecture across all viewpoints. - Identifies organizational requirements for resources, structures, and cultural changes. - Leads the development and execution of a communications and education plan and leverages metrics to assess achievement and impact. - Fosters a culture of engagement, holds self and others accountable through trust and authentic relationships. - Promotes a high performance culture by cultivating and motivating direct/indirect reports through coaching, mentoring, and by providing regular and meaningful feedback. - Identifies and provides career development opportunities through developmental assignments and formal/informal training. Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills Required - A minimum of 8 years of enterprise architecture or related experience. - A minimum of 5 years of experience managing IT teams and projects. - A Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree, with a focus in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related discipline. - An equivalent combination of training, experience, and education will be considered in lieu of required experience and/or degree. - Exposure to multiple, diverse business and technical configurations, technologies, and processing environments. - Lead through influence & collaboration - Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation. - Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills. - Knowledge of all components of a holistic enterprise architecture. - Minimum age of 18. - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred - Airline or travel industry experience. - Software engineering, product management, and/or infrastructure/could experience. - Expertise with big data and leading data insight-related projects and initiatives. - Experience leading software integrations and service-oriented architecture (SOA) initiatives. - Expertise managing a technology PMO and delivering multiple strategic programs. - Experience with agile development practices - Agile and innovative mindset to drive business outcomes enabled by technology. - Ability to balance the long-term and short-term implications of individual decisions. - Ability to translate business needs into enterprise architecture requirements. - Ability to apply multiple solutions to business problems. - Ability to comprehend rapidly the functions and capabilities of new trends and technologies. - Demonstrated ability to develop a culture of superior customer service.
