About the Role
As a buyer for GUESS, you coordinate, execute and manage activities of a buying department, classification or key programs, depending on scope and complexity, and assists the Buying Manager in developing, executing and communicating a product strategy that meets or exceeds financial goals.
You will be responsible for Buying and Merchandising for Brand Guess, timely OTB spend to ensure adequate & seasonal merchandise flow across all stores, top and bottom line budgeted numbers and end of year stock holding with ageing stocks holding within acceptable norms.
You will support the buying manager in the development and growth of specific categories, with creating new upcoming lines, liaise with suppliers, sample management, ensure the database is kept up to date, complete market analysis and any administration responsibilities associated with a buying department
About You
To be considered for this exciting role, you should have previous experience in a similar role and experience in handbags and footwear buying with strong market awareness. You must be highly organized with the capability to work in a fast-paced environment. During the buying season, a significant amount of time will be spent away from the workplace in order to assemble a new collection of merchandise.
You will need to be confident and assertive when negotiating and communicating across the teams, with the ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships and will be able to demonstrate:
- Excellent MS Excel skills
- Previous exposure to SAP or similar
- Excellent communication skills
- Planning and organising skills
- Analytical and negotiation skills
