Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **POSITION INFORMATION** Role Summary The Aircraft Technician is responsible for performing high quality routine and non-routine aircraft maintenance. Maintaining a high level of aircraft readiness is critical to the success of our airline. Technicians must be willing to operate as a team, be energetic, flexible and safety focused. Key Duties - Carries out assigned work in an expeditious manner, exercises sound judgement in executing each work project, and accomplishes all work in compliance with procedures and policies established in approved Alaska Airlines manuals. - Exercises the authority of an Airman Certificate (Repairman or Airframe and/or Powerplant) in signing the corrective action in maintenance documents or the Aircraft Maintenance Log for Return To Service, ensuring such is in accordance with Alaska Airlines policies and procedures. - Ensures that a clean, safe, and orderly work area is maintained at all times. - Acts as Flight Deck Coordinator, when assigned, to ensure safe operation of aircraft systems (e.g. flight controls, electrical, landing gear) from the flight deck. - Accesses Learning Management System (LMS) database once every two weeks and complete assigned training in a timely manner, and maintain current qualifications. - Maintains compliance with Safety Management System (SMS) and Company safety policies and procedures as well as Federal Regulations by reporting any safety hazard or potential hazard. - Includes SMS in your daily work habits, and remain current in the training requirements for SMS. Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills Required - Must possess valid Airframe and Powerplant licenses. - Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record. - Strong knowledge of aircraft systems and an ability to troubleshoot and problem solve technical issues. - Knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration regulations and company procedures. - Must be willing and able to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. - High school diploma or equivalent is required. - Minimum age of 18. - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred - Four or more years of experience preferred. - Two or more years of college preferred.
