Job Description:

  • Design seeds PSP in alignment with management team including:-
    • Mini tuber seeds requirement.
    • Land requirement.
    • Seeds cold stores requirement
    • Project cost saving and productivity
  • Provide leadership of Potato variety approval program in effort with PepsiCo R&D to optimize quality and the overall cost of finished goods.
  • Design and managing seeds farms AOP to ensure highest yield and quality.
  • Design and execute the annual new varieties ACE trials, area trials Storage capability trials according to PepsiCo protocol with alignment with agro sector team to select the winner varieties for commercial production scale.
  • Defines supplier KPIs, scorecard, data sources and collection methods on supplier performance to evaluate their performance across the year as a base for next years potato and corn supply sources plan.
  • Handle all official communications with the governmental authorities to secure the required licenses and approvals for seeds production, seeds storage, seeds trading, seeds certification, mini tuber importing and new varieties registration and protection according to the Egyptian Law.
  • Provide potato suppliers with the required technical support to ensure agricultural best practices for IPS and new Frito Lay varieties performance in supplier’s farms.
  • Manage seeds cold stores operations for 35 MT of seeds to ensure ideal storage conditions according to PepsiCo standard.
  • Initiate, monitor and jointly work on global / sector sustainability ideas and programs with potato & corn growers with the aim to reduce critical resources (water, etc.) resulting in decreasing our carbon footprint.
  • Design and execute seeds program productivity plan in alignment with agro management team and productivity team.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or any relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a similar role
  • Very high agronomy experience especially in the field of potato, potato seeds and corn production.
  • Strong relationship with agricultural authorities, suppliers, growers and farmer, acquainted with new varieties protection and registration procedures,
  • Aware with global best practices relevant to seeds, potato production and new fertilizers or chemicals
