This job is a member of the Plant Maintenance Team within the Integrated Operations Division. Responsible for GSE maintenance operations in multiple stations where the maintenance work is contracted to a vendor. Work as a liaison between the company, the stations contract vendor and partner with Customer Experience station management to ensure equipment is maintained per company standards.
Specifically, you’ll do the following:
- Assist the Station Managers / Directors of all assigned cities with any ground support equipment (GSE) issues
- Assist manager in evaluating ground support equipment (GSE) vendors for qualifications, experience levels, facilities, parts support and overall ability to comply with ground support equipment (GSE) department programs and procedures. Make recommendations to ground support equipment (GSE) department, contracts department and station management based on those evaluations
- Initiate open repair work orders for time and material vendors as per the outlined procedures
- Review station ground support equipment (GSE) vendor invoices for correct labor and material charges. Assure all charges match up with the commercial vendor labor report. Question and seek adjustments for any errors found
- Inform Station Management of ground support equipment (GSE) abuse related damage and accident repair cost. This will enable Station Management to follow up with using vendor for reimbursement of repair cost
- Assist local station ground support equipment (GSE) vendors with part procurement and technical expertise to expedite repairs. Parts over $750 must be preapproved by vendor supervisor. Order parts from Company stock to support all assigned stations. Approve all repairs that exceed $1,500
- Work with station ground support equipment (GSE) vendors for product improvement and equipment upgrades. Provide vendors with direction to enhance the operation and improve cost efficiencies
- Perform ground support equipment (GSE) station and vendor audits to ensure compliance with all GSE policies, procedures and standards. Two audits per station per year minimum
- Perform any additional duties and responsibilities as assigned in order to
- Achieve department and Company objectives to motivate workers to achieve work goals
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalency
- 3 years related job experience
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of ground support equipment (GSE) Maintenance operation
- Automotive, GSE or Heavy equipment operations experience in production along with parts procurement as a supervisor or lead mechanic.
- Previous experience in area of responsibility preferred
- Above average written and oral communication and interpersonal skills is required
- Capability to handle multiple projects concurrently
- Working knowledge of PC's and software applications
- Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable
- Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if applicable
Preferred Qualifications
- Mechanical experience is required / ground support equipment (GSE) mechanical experience is preferred
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
- ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications a plus
