General Manager - Technology Solutions Delivery | AlFuttaim | Dubai
About the Role:
The role is accountable for delivering optimal infrastructure solutions for the group companies globally in line with the Group IT Architecture strategy and guidelines; and to continuously optimize the infrastructure environment and reduce cost of ownership. They are also responsible for tracking and managing technology driven demand and software license compliance. Role would be responsible for the Infrastructure Technology Standards and work closely with Enterprise Architecture to ensure compliance, including at the various internal architecture forums, and keep it up to date with the technology advancements.
Key Responsibilities:
Demand and Infrastructure Project Delivery
- Manage investigation and implementation of any new technologies that would contribute to the improvement, efficiency and enhancement of existing IT infrastructure systems (systems, network, voice) for all geographies.
- Lead a portfolio of infrastructure projects both standalone and integrated with LOB projects
- Manage solution architecture and approach discussions with verticals and EAVT in line with Group IT Architecture guidelines and business needs.
- Ensure policies and processes are documented and reviewed regularly to ensure accuracy and relevance for the infrastructure solution delivery
- Ensure technology benefits can be realized and support risk mitigation, if any, which inhibits realization.
Infrastructure Optimisation
- Ensure an in depth understanding of the infrastructure environment and identify opportunities for improvement of performance, availability and costs.
- Evaluates technologies and provides both tactical and strategic direction for value added developments and enhancements.
- Build industry relationships to stay abreast with latest developments innovation and technologies.
Procurement of Hardware, Software and Implementation Services
- Provide expert advice on requirements to support sourcing and negotiations, procurement and delivery of hardware, software and Implementation Services
- Software asset management covering software acquisition, maintenance renewals, life cycle planning and costing for large infrastructure software vendors
- Contribute to the CAPEX and project budgeting
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead a lean, skilled and fully engaged team; coach, develop and motivate them to achieve set objectives and deliver maximum contribution
- Establish clear objectives, roles and accountabilities of the team.
- Promote and support your talent within EIT
Internationalisation
- Drive the standardization of the IT solutions and software licenses across the regions and support integration of international IT teams.
Continuity and Governance
- Build of disaster recovery capability for critical systems.
- Ensure governance structures are established to manage infrastructure projects
- Identify and manage key IT projects to address identified infrastructure risks.
Other Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of the internationalisation strategy related projects and initiative.
- Contribute to the improvement of the solution demand & delivery practices, procedures, methodologies and tools through identification of and participation in improvement initiatives.
- Support LOB in planning and execution of integration of IT infrastructure for acquisitions
- Identification and mitigation of IT risks and issues.
About the Person:
Education:
- Degree in Computer Science/IT/Engineering/Science
Minimum Experience and Knowledge:
- 10-15 years IT Infrastructure experience involving major technologies in Systems, Networking, and Storage in a large enterprise environment. Experience in Cloud Technologies and DevOps.
- Business and financial acumen.
Job-Specific/Technical Skills required to complete the tasks:
- IT Technology solutioning and delivery in large global enterprises, Agile delivery, business case and estimation build up, portfolio management
