Intro
The American Airlines CR Smith Museum is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to engaging visitors through exhibits, education programs and events about aviation and the airline industry. Coming out of the pandemic, the Museum is on an exciting growth trajectory, recently receiving the Best in DFW Bronze award for Museums and being recognized by 2021 million Women Mentors – Texas Stand Up for STEM with awards in both the Educational Institution category and the Educator category. This position is a crucial addition to the Museum team. What you'll do

- Education program development
- Leverage industry best practices to assist in creating standards aligned K-12 programs including Project Jetbridge, Aviation Day, Aviation STEM Camp, and Jr. Pilot Bootcamp
- Update programs if/as needed based on feedback and testing
- Education program delivery
- Plan and organize the delivery of virtual and in-person programs, at the Museum or in the community
- Responsible for the logistics of scheduled programs including preparing supplies, planning drive time (if applicable), program set-up, technology testing, program delivery, and clean-up, in accordance with the scheduled program time
What you'll do

- Build relationships and maintain contacts database with schools and community partners,
- Actively seek new opportunities for program delivery, e.g., libraries, afterschool programs, etc.
- Keep accurate records of program attendance, equipment maintenance needs, and supply inventories
- Provide guidance and support for HS students who express a desire to pursue a STEM career and/or a career in the airline industry
- Teacher training delivery
- Assist in the development, logistics and delivery of teacher training programs both in-person and virtually
- Program evaluation
- Assist with development and implementation of an impact evaluation strategy for key programs
- Volunteer program management
- Manage volunteer programs, including acquiring new volunteers, managing schedules, coordination and training as needed (ex. guest pilot)
- Other duties, as assigned
- Able to work some weekend and evening hours
- Assist the team in accomplishing institutional goals, which may include supporting Museum front-of-house operations, exhibit operation/maintenance, and more
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Bachelor's degree in education or STEM related field or equivalent experience/training
- Excellent customer service
- Must have reliable vehicle (mileage reimbursement) and be able at times to spend significant portion of time offsite delivering programs
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Technology savvy, comfortable troubleshooting office equipment, VR and flight simulators
- Spanish speaking an asset
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
- Work in fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft office software (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)
- Problem solver with analytical skills; methodical and detail-oriented
- Self-motivated, independent with high standards
- Ability to keep many balls in the air and prioritize
- Strong team player
