The Undergraduate Intern position is a developmental assignment that provides interns with real-time work projects, leadership development opportunities, as well as involvement in corporate social responsibility. Work projects involve assignments that are relevant to American’s current business needs and opportunities. Interns are afforded travel privileges enabling them to connect to the international and domestic destinations that American Airlines serves.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Analysis, development, and execution of various initiatives. These initiatives include customer engagement, division performance, and marketing strategy
  • Process improvement through business needs identification, requirement information gathering, business problem definition and business process documentation
  • Competitive analysis
  • Division administration tasks
  • Support and development of client engagement events
  • Presentations to divisional leadership
  • Analysis, development, and execution of various initiatives
  • Support and develop client engagement events
  • Provide event analysis, including customer engagement ROI, attendance and marketing strategy
  • Assist with event planning process and subsequent steps such as venue and décor selection, menu design, promotional item ordering, vendor payments, guest communication, etc.
  • Attend events to provide on-site execution
  • Support the design and production of marketing collateral
  • Provide leadership with event updates during the planning process and event recap after the event
  • Completes ad hoc projects as requested
  • Support administrative needs of office as necessary
Job Qualifications
  • The ability to manage multiple projects with variable timelines and sometimes very tight deadlines
  • Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to function effectively in a diverse team environment
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint
  • Need to be a self-starter, show initiative and facilitate creative problem solving
  • Must exhibit a professional personal presentation and brand, knowledge of information systems analysis and design techniques and database management systems
  • Current Junior with coursework completed or planned in Economics, Statistics, Marketing or Management
  • Undergraduate coursework completed or planned in Business Administration, Hospitality, Marketing, Management or Communications
  • Ability to work some nights and weekends at off-site events
