Job Description:
- Ensure proper underwriting of insurance risks in keeping with the guidelines by supplying experience statistics and market intelligence. Compute appropriate premium accurately and to facilitate proper data entry process and generation of appropriate policy documents.
- Thorough knowledge on reinsurance concepts and should be able to decide whether a risk has to be shared with Reinsurers based on the Company Treaty/guidelines and calculate the reinsurance cessions and negotiate with the reinsurers.
- Co-ordinate, review and approve policies and ensure accuracy of the contents of the policy documents and arrange prompt dispatch in order to provide an efficient service to customers, brokers, development officers and participating re-insurers.
- Co-ordinate with customers, Branches, brokers and development officers and other insurance companies to obtain required additional underwriting particulars in order to carry out proper risk assessment and provide appropriate solutions to their problems.
- To liaise with the IT Department for continuous improvements/corrections in the Policy issuing systems in order to ensure smooth functioning of the IT Systems.
- To conduct technical trainings for newly joined staff in the head office and the branches in order to enhance their knowledge levels
- Prepare monthly premium and reinsurance treaty statistics and other statistical information required to facilitate Management’s decision making process.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Insurance.
- Having 6 to 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in insurance industry in GCC countries.
- In depth knowlege of Specialized lines of business particulary on Professional Indemnity, Medical Malpractice and Jewelers Block.
- Strong understanding of industry practices, standards and underwriting concepts.
- Strong negotiation and relationship building skills.
- Analytical with ability to exercise sound business judgement.
- Excellent communication skills
