The job holder is responsible for monitoring and ensuring optimum utilization of the available workshop labour and resources to achieve set operational efficiency targets. The role involves ensuring the team carries out vehicle repair and service activities in accordance to established quality, safety and efficiency guidelines and within set time frames. Job also involves coordinating with Public Transportation Authority personnel in operation of Buses under contract.

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical / Automotive or related field
  • Management Diploma/Degree would be an additional advantage

 

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in handling a team not less than 30 members.
  • Experience in RTA would be an additional advantage

 

Job-Specific Skills:

 

  • Good communicator in English; Arabic an advantage
  • Sound Managerial skills to lead team
  • Ability to implement and monitor the system
  • Valid UAE Light Vehicle Driving license will be an advantage

Duties:

  • Monitoring the vehicle uptime in RTA depot. Plans, To Monitor and Accountable for all the maintenance/repairs/works carried out at an RTA depot
  • Reviews nature of works in the RTA job cards & gets the works done by the team. Planning of requisite resources i.e., Parts/Manpower/Vehicles/Tools/Logistic requirements to carryout the jobs
  • Analyse the Key parameters & Identify the areas of Improvement. Create and implement system & record keeping
  • Monitors warranty jobs to ensure the team follows the set warranty guidelines. This includes reviewing job cards and other documentation to justify warranty claims and facilitate smooth processing
  • Reviews workshop figures, such as hours sold, hours worked versus idle hours to monitor progress of operational targets. This includes preparing reports for management discussions
  • Monitors communication with customers through Foreman
  • Monitors and improves the competency of team members.  Accountable for the functioning and repairs of tools / equipment being used in the workshop
