Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Sr. Financial Research Analyst will act as a subject matter expert in Treasury and related matters, playing a critical role in successful execution of the long-term Treasury and Finance strategy at Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. Core responsibilities include financial modeling, analytics and execution with respect to, return on invested capital (ROIC), fleet planning, capital structure, capital spending, long-term cash forecasting, financing, credit/PDP facilities, dividend, share repurchase, interest rate hedging, credit and financial metrics and other Treasury and Finance matters. Scope & Complexity As an individual contributor and team player, this role exercises considerable judgment and provides recommendations to support a wide variety of Finance, Fleet and Treasury related subjects and projects. Key Duties - Provides modeling, analytics and business support with respect to ROIC, fleet planning, capital structure, capital spending, cash forecasting, fuel hedging, financing, credit and financial metrics, and other Treasury matters. Includes working on executive and board level projects and presentations. - Utilizes critical thinking skills to identify and analyze strategic financial opportunities, proactively lead discussions, and make recommendations to support department initiative and projects. - Supports long-term fleet plan including administration of aircraft purchase contracts and aircraft sale, lease, sublease agreements and projects. Includes maintenance of internal reporting on fleet plan / activities. - Develops solutions for Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air's financial activities, including economic analysis and negotiation of new loan or lease agreements and evaluating alternative sources of funding. - Administers the fuel hedging program, including placing trades, program reporting, evaluating financial derivative instruments, analysis of strategic direction, and working with external hedging counterparties. Includes involvement in negotiation of hedging contracts and compliance with Dodd-Frank. - Acts as a liaison with Network Planning, Legal, Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable, FP&A, and M&E on cross divisional projects. - Cultivates relationships with external customers and stakeholders including aircraft manufacturers, worldwide banking and leasing partners, capital providers, and rating agencies. - Guides and mentors team members. Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills Required - 4 years of proven analytical and/or business intelligence experience. - A Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, mathematics, accounting, or a related field. - Knowledge of accounting, finance, and investing fundamentals. - Proficiency with advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, particularly related to financial modeling. - Strong organizational skills; excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. - Ability to manage multiple complex projects, balance priorities, and work independently. - Demonstrated modeling experience. - Ability to understand and breakdown complex ideas for decision making. Preferred - Master's degree in a related discipline.
