Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Manager, Vendor Maintenance contributes to the success of Alaska Airlines (AS) by playing a key role in driving the execution and successful delivery of large and/or complex maintenance projects in accordance with established standards and best practices. Scope & Complexity - This leadership role manages vendor maintenance projects for Alaska Airlines (AS). Key Duties - Administers contracts between Alaska Airlines (AS) and vendors for repair work performed on AS aircraft, engines, or components. - Leads and directs efforts to ensure high standards are maintained in the areas of safety, quality, performance, and cost. - Maintains a thorough working knowledge of vendor maintenance agreements and audits all invoices to ensure billing is correct and in accordance with the contract. - Serves as the AS liaison for all warranty claims (e.g., substantiation, data collection, etc.). - Monitors vendor safety rules and regulations and reports violations to the appropriate vendor management for enforcement. - Oversees the activities of the selected project vendors to ensure all maintenance is performed in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARS) and AS policies. - Ensures all FARs and AS technical requirements are satisfied on special project work at vendor facilities. - Identifies risks and manages with mitigation plans. - Apprises the Director, Aircraft Heavy Maintenance of project work in progress and coordinates with department and personnel to ensure on-time delivery or completion. - Establishes staffing levels in anticipation of the degree of maintenance planned for each facility. - Monitors vendor maintenance labor costs to ensure projects are accomplished as planned and within budget. - Performs other duties as assigned. Job-Specific Skills & Education Required - A minimum of 6 years of aircraft heavy maintenance experience, preferably with a Part 121 carrier. - A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in aircraft maintenance related field. - Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license. - Strong analytical skills. - Able and willingness to travel and work independently at remote locations. - Effective communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening). - Detailed oriented and highly organized, with ability to multi-task and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment. - Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). - High school diploma or equivalent is required. - Minimum age of 18. - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred - 3rd party maintenance experience (MRO). - Continuous improvement experience or certification. - Project management skills and experience. - A Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree.
