About the Role

We are in search of an energetic Information Technology Manager to lead a team of IT professionals that are focused on supporting the operations of Unix & Database systems.

As the IT Manager, you will be the administrative lead for a team that specializes in deployment, maintenance and troubleshooting AIX/Linux & Database systems. These activities include team management, managing project life cycles from initiation to execution to post implementation support, vendor/contract management and budgeting. The technologies supported include AIX/Linux systems (Wintel/P series), SAN storage, virtualization, DB2, Oracle & MS SQL, backup and disaster recovery technologies.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Executes and provides leadership to teams for operational and strategic planning, including business requirements, project planning, organizing, budgeting, growth predictions, and allocation of resources.
  • Works with the team on identification and analysis of areas for potential improvement. Determines focus and scope of improvement areas. Ensures alignment with business processes, tactical and strategic vision and serves a key decision maker for complex issues.
  • Architecting and implementing highly available server and storage solutions across Enterprise for infrastructure and application services. The build solutions should be in alignment with corporate IT Roadmap.
  • Provide technical design, build, and support for systems and cloud architecture. This includes ensuring appropriate system performance, capacity, resiliency and redundancy for all cloud-based platforms – SaaS, PaaS and IaaS.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on key technology trends in the industry leading to innovative solutions for business problems and initiatives.
  • Design, build and operate, enterprise systems infrastructure ensuring network technology standards and baselines are in place, security practices are followed and documentation for operational hand over is created.
  • Manage the appropriate design, build, support and maintenance of operating systems, and other related systems software. Manage the up time and operations of primary computer systems and data center services.
  • Oversee capacity planning for the effective use of current systems and plan for the future growth. The Systems Life cycle management is the key responsibility to maintain the systems in Optimal performance and cost effective utilization.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation as it relates to server and storage topology. Provide required documentation for operational handover from design and build phase of projects.
  • Independently manage contractors and vendors to ensure appropriate service delivery.
  • Lead and execute appropriate change management procedures following formal and informal processes when implementing production system changes
  • Ensure timely resolution of incident management, problem management and request fulfillment in accordance with defined SLA’s and procedures.
  • Lead the design, build and operation of disaster recovery management systems and conduct periodic DR testing to ensure compliance.
  • Provide metrics and system performance reports to management as required.
  • Identifying & Managing the Risks in the domain.
  • Managing, mentoring and performance review of the team members on regular basis.
  • All other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • Education:  Bachelor's degree of Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
  • Experience: 5 -7 years of experience in large scale Unix & Database Systems management and 3 + Years as an IT Manager, team lead or supervisory role.
  • SAP Infrastructure background is must
  • Experience on IBM, Azure or AWS Cloud
  • People management skill is required
