Job Description:

• Administer Microsoft operating systems running on multiple domains
• Diagnose Windows-based software and hardware failures to resolution, provide full documentation of corrective actions applied and recommend and implement solutions to prevent a recurrence
• Troubleshoot all problems and difficulties in the Data Center and Cloud environment
• Install operating systems, patches, bug fixes and advisories
• Advise the government customer on matters pertaining to cloud data center operations
• Configure the OS and server to conform to current security policies and procedures
• Monitor and report unauthorized access attempts
• Provide user account and group management as required for systems to include add/disable/ delete user and group accounts, passwords, change permissions and access control
• Execute startups and shutdowns of each system and domain
• Install, modify and maintain systems and utility software on server computer systems
• Provide server support related to other software
• Provide Active Server Pages (ASP), Microsoft ASP.NET Framework, Visual Studio (VS), C++, C Sharp, Java Server Pages (JSP), and Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) web application support to include configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Manage Public Key Infrastructure digital certificates for the new and existing operating system and web applications
• Provide technical and system administration support for Web applications using Microsoft Internet Information Systems (IIS) and Apache Tomcat for AFPOA systems
• Maintain and troubleshoot the operation and performance of web applications and associated web application resources through IIS Manager and available tools
• Monitor and apply all necessary OS security patches
• Configure and troubleshoot high-availability hardware and software solutions
• Monitor and manage system resources, provide system performance tuning to system function and reliability
• Ensure high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission-critical host computer resources
• Perform system backups and recoveries
• Develop procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized use, acts of nature, and user abuse
• Maintain an inventory of system-level hardware and software configurations
• Document all system downtime, hardware failures, etc.
• Develop procedures, programs and documentation for backup and restoration of host operating systems and host-based applications
• Monitor and manage audit logs
• Develop and coordinate project directions and schedules to maximize benefits and minimize impacts on the customer organizations
• Stay current with technological developments in systems administration technology and recommends ways to take advantage of new technology
