​This job is a member of the Team Member Experience team within the People Division. They will be responsible for conducting investigations into claims of potential harassment and discrimination. They will partner with operational leadership in investigations into potential violations of company policies.

 

What you'll do
  • Collaborates with operational and corporate leadership by providing information that leads to proactive solutions or action plans that impact policies, processes and procedures
  • Conducting investigations into possible violations of Company policies, particularly the Work Environment Policy
  • Assist the operating departments with technical and/or complex investigations, including time card fraud cases 
  • Facilitate discussions between management and the employees
  • Educate employees and management on various Company policies and procedures
  • Make recommendations regarding appropriate corrective action or work environment planning
  • Prepare and present case summaries to senior management and AA legal department
  • Assist AA legal department in preparing for litigation and arbitration; and testify in arbitrations. 
  • Conducts various data analysis on complaints and related metrics, monitors for patterns and trends to identify areas of concern
  • Explains and interprets company regulations, policies, and procedures for employees and management
  • Partner with internal and external counsel when appropriate 
  • Conducts ongoing HR training and guidance on all work environment related matters
  • Produces and maintains reports, metrics, for the HR Partner team 
  • Represents the HR Partner team on various projects/committees
  • Completes ad-hoc projects, as assigned
All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training
  • 3 years of Human Resources experience or 5 years of supervisory experience
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with state and federal employment laws including but not limited to; FMLA, ADA, FLSA, NLRB, Title VII, etc.

 

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • 1 year of experience handling internal complaint investigations
  • ​Prior experience working with represented groups
  • Professional certification as a PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SP preferred

 

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • ​Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Ability to have strong initiative and solid judgment abilities/skills
  • Ability to demonstrate effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent project management skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and produce results
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships, be able to partner, use a subtle style and work collaboratively with others
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
