Every day, we go beyond what's expected and reach for the remarkable, together. **YOUR ROLE** Role Summary The Base Coordinator assists with a wide variety of routine to moderately-complex administrative duties and analysis. Scope & Complexity - This individual contributor supports and coordinates base activities for Alaska Airlines (AS). Key Duties - Assists in planning, applying, and monitoring strategic goals and department objectives by gathering pertinent business, financial, service, and operational information and identifying and evaluating trends and options; defining objectives and evaluating outcomes - Assists in the review of financial performance data and budget activities to monitor and measure productivity, goal progress, and activity levels. - Supports finance and accounting activities (e.g., forecasts supply requirements, assists in annual budget preparation, schedules expenditures, analyzes variances, initiates corrective action, and reconciles billing and expense reports). - Performs routine administrative duties (e.g., maintains files, maintains calendars, schedules meetings, maintains visitor I.D. badges and logs, maintains supplies of commonly used forms, orders office supplies, etc.). - Maintains office policies, practices, and procedures and analyzes and monitors internal processes. - Assists pilots with information and processes, including benefits/leave, worker's compensation, payroll, emergency travel, system regulations, and pass policy. - Serves as the Flight Operations/Base liaison with base port authorities in matters affecting pilots, including researching issues and proposing and implementing solutions. - Serves as the Base communication focal point through review, analysis, and implementation of company initiatives, including employee engagement and recognition as it relates to the pilot group - In partnership with flight operations management, plans, creates, and disseminates strategies, activities, and materials to keep pilots informed and engaged with customer satisfaction and onboard performance. - Administers probationary pilot process, including maintaining records and schedules. - Coordinates company-sponsored functions such as the annual United Way Campaign, Christmas party, summer picnic, flight officer retirements, and other special promotions or visits. - Establishes and maintains quality control of pilot resource room including security compliance. - Performs other duties as assigned. Job-Specific Skills & Education Required - A minimum of 2 years of administrative experience, preferably in the commercial aviation industry. - Ability to form strong relationships within flight operations and cross-divisionally. - Ability to problem solve. - Ability to professionally represent AS, Flight Operations and the Base internally and externally. - Excellent communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening). - Detailed oriented and highly organized, with ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). - High school diploma or equivalent is required. - Minimum age of 18. - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred - Knowledge of processes, policies, and systems that support employees (e.g., system regulations, pass policy, and medical leaves). - Demonstrate a working knowledge of administrative functions with an emphasis on a commercial airline and pilot group specifically. - Basic knowledge of collective bargaining agreements (CBAs). - An Associate of Arts or an Associate of Science degree.
