About the Role

To maximise sales and profit through managing the merchandise buy and controlling stock commitment in achieving the company’s financial targets & objectives.

Key Role Specific Responsibilities:

  • Maximise sales turnover and minimise costs in order to meet company’s gross profit target.
  • Establish the MENA buying budget
  • Develop and implement buying strategy for MENA Stores.
  • Buy a balanced catalogue across all merchandising groups for Stores.
  • Select the appropriate products from the total UK Offer for the local market.
  • Work closely with IFG Team and set requirements for IBO “Must Have Products”.
  • Manage No. of Ways.
  • Deliver competitive pricing policy and strategic promotion plans in achieving the company financial goals.
  • Control cost of reductions and manage stock inventory.
  • Translate the UK layout principle and deliver layout principle and merchandise linkage information for stores.
  • Deliver marketing planner through working closely with the Marketing Team.
  • Develop and train buying managers to be commercial and competent to support the business growth.
  • Understand the customer needs through working closely with the Store Team in order to offer the right products in Stores.

About You

  • Proven experience in retail merchandising/buying.
  • Good fashion flair combined with analytical and numerical skills.
  • Understand the local requirements and able to translate them into appropriate buying strategy that fits the principle of Marks and Spencer PLC.
