Job Purpose
The role is responsible for collaborating with the business to solve problems by deriving meaningful insights for monitoring business performance and supporting data-driven decision-making. This is a hands-on role with a focus on developing insights products (reports, dashboards, statistical modelling, etc.) Reporting to the Head of Data Science, the role is also responsible for training internal team members in data analytics tools and techniques to improve the adoption, utilization and effectiveness of analytics.
Key Role Specific Accountabilities:
- Deliver business value by proposing and delivering automated dashboards and/or inventing new ways of deep diving with data to uncover insights. Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to identify intelligence needed to manage their business, source/cleanse data and produce relevant insights.
- Prepare adhoc analysis and visualize data to communicate complicated information in simple and easy to understand ways.
- Support the implementation of self-service analytics through development of analytics standards that enable business users. Lead and coach internal team members to improve their understanding and use of data.
- Drive continuous improvement in the way insight and knowledge is drawn from the available data and information including defining new sources of information to be exploited for the benefit of the organization.
- Research and stay up to date on latest approaches and technologies in the market ensuring that, when relevant, these are appropriately leveraged within Data and Analytics function
Minimum Experience and Knowledge:
- 5 – 8 years of experience in BI/analytics analyzing and interpreting numbers, sourcing and cleansing data, producing adhoc insights, designing and developing dashboards
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or any other related quantitative field.
- Proven success in presenting complex data to non-technical stakeholders in an organization.
- Deep understanding and ability to work with large sets and volumes of data, strong problem-solving skills.
- Experience with probability and statistics inclusive of forecasting, machine learning, optimization and experimental design would be added advantage
- Experience within automotive, retail, real-estate and/or finance industries is preferred
Job-Specific/Technical Skills required completing the tasks:

- Hands-on experience in visualization tools including Tableau and Microsoft Power BI
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Automation of data extraction and preparation using tools such as Alteryx
- Experience in supporting and training team members to improve the adoption and utilization of insights/dashboards
- Excellent communication skills and negotiation skills with ability to understand and drive achievement of business objectives
