Technician- Marine

 

Job Description:  To carry out dealership service on customer vehicles as per company standards and ensure optimum quality with increased productivity and technical efficiency, thereby individually contributing to generate workshop revenue.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day to day Service & Maintenance activities of Motor Cycles / Generators / Marine Engines inside the branch workshop and the field.
  • Correctly diagnose and repair faults.
  • Prepare quotations as accurate as possible at the time of estimation.
  • Able to write Clear Field Service Reports after completion of each job and obtain customer approval/payment.
  • Responsible for the highest levels of work quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to conduct duties in a workshop environment or independently travel to worksites in various locations.
  • Work closely with the Aftersales Supervisor / Team Leader to ensure that jobs are completed within stipulated manufacturers or local standard times.
  • Timely and accurate machine fault diagnosis and high level of ‘first-time fix'.
  • Recommend preventive maintenance and repair solutions to reduce risk of breakdown.
  • Should be able to understand and interpret maintenance and repair manuals, schematic drawings, electrical circuits etc.
  • Aware of the hazards and the risks associated with their work activities.
  • Use and maintain appropriate PPEs supplied to them
  • Take reasonable care for own health & safety and also take care that his or her acts do not adversely affect the health & safety of others.
  • Ensure quality of job to avoid errors/rework and take actions to resolve customer concerns to improve customer engagement.
  • Comply with company QHSE guidelines and SOPs and report all incidents to the supervisor
  • Participate in Tool Box Talk meetings and undertake safety awareness trainings as provided by the company.
  • Follow emergency & evacuation procedure of the company.

 

Qualifications Experience & Skills:

 

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:  

  1. Minimum of 2 years working experience in a motorcycle / Marine / Power Product dealer workshop
  2. Working experience on a 4-stroke outboard marine engines / motorcycles / Power Products will be an advantage
  3. Technically competent, with ability to diagnose and repair and maintain marine outboard engines within set time-frame.
  4. Must be able to communicate in both written and spoken English
  5. Able to produce relevant Technical/Engineering qualifications/documentation
